Whether it be the nick on here or just any nickname, I want to read about it. To make you feel better I'll start out first.

Pants, originally Darci-Pants then shortened to just Pants, was placed upon me after a sleepover me and few of my best gal friends had over at my house, mind you we were in middle school. And I in true form at slept walk up to my room, changed my pajama pants and had gone downstairs without disturbance. I woke up in the morning, and turned to my friends and asked them "Are these the same pants I had fallen asleep in?" They looked at me funny and said "No."

And so from that day I was known as Pants or Pantsu.

Now what about you guys?

multiple threads of this nature, but they are likely closed. You can try searching. it might give you the story of the oldtimers. I used to be Architect on here, after the nickname of my favorite rapper, Holocaust. After a while, i noticed that I was taking myself too seriously and that Architect was too matrixy, so I shortened it to Archie. Welcome.

I signed up with the nick Pants but slowly I am morphing into SilentSpark, the username of the character in the book I'm writing, ah the effects of the internet, so wonderful.

Mine's undergone several important, epochal gyrations.

"Metro Dynamics" (as best I remember) is a made up nonsense portmanteau, Metropolis + Dynamics, no doubt patterned after real and fictional corporate names (General Dynamics, Cyber Dynamics, Hyperkinematic Machine Dynamics). I like the "ics", as anyone who knows me will confirm. Possibly my favorite is Mexichem Petrocyclics, another invented supranational corporation.

Not all of them work, this one seems to have stuck.

I think you're required to make an alternate- . . . um . . . screenname, Boog. After such an appealing neologism.

While out drinking with coworkers a few years back.. the alcohol fueled consensus was that I bore a striking resemblance to this guy. Was called that everyday for about the following six months. During that time, I started hanging out here.

As described in the one or two earlier threads on this topic, it's my real name, except that in Real Life my name is capitalized. It also happens to be the name of a character in All Tomorrow's Parties and Idoru, plus the name of a hacked AI guide to London in Mona Lisa Overdrive. I'm also known as Neon Genesis Evolution Turbo Type C, to my friends.
