Found any bargains lately?
a movie rental place is liquidating slow moving titles, brought 3 dvds for 10 dollars- Bubba Ho Tep, The Day After Trinity and The Servant.
Then at the Salvation Army thrift store I found a VHS of the 1940s serial The Masked Marvel . They gave it to me for FREE! Cool.

the local grocery store had these tasty items two for one.

I was pleasantly shocked to find they tasted good and are pretty healthy.

  • Seven Whole Grains & Sesame, together with whole, roasted almonds, succulent, sun-dried fruit, toasted sunflower seeds, and a touch of wildflower honey
  • 5 grams of protein, 4 grams of fiber
  • All-natural, minimally processed, kosher-certified
  • Contains seven whole grains; no trans fat

Nope, I hate granola bars too.
I can barely manage to down one and it certainly can't even put a dent on my appetite.

Eeeww. These things make me wanna throw up (some different types of trail mix too). It's a pain 'cause it's usually the stuff you take with you when you're out hiking for several days. I always have to find alternatives that are equally compact.

I found 150 w compact flourescent light bulbs at a local dollar store.

French/English labeling, so likely candian surplus or overstock. Bought all they had- nine of them. Seven year guarantee, but that would involve keeping the packaging, receipt, etc. to redeem a dollar.

You know, I changed to all CF bulbs and saved 20% on my electric bill!

I love dollar stores, but it vexes me that there are so many creeping up all over the US. Scary trend. I'm not rich, I shop at dollar stores cos I'm cheap, but most folks are there due to poverty.

Six metal CDs for 5 bucks each, from a bloke in a (virtual) pub:

in flames - reroute to remain
lacuna coil - comalies
nevermore - dead heart in a dead world
nile - amongst the catacombs...
nile - in their darkened shrines
sinai beach - immersed

Yeah, I thought it was a pretty decent deal to pick up some stuff I'd wanted for a while. Sinai Beach is a relatively obscure California Christian metal band - I threw it in the pile just for curiosity, so I guess we'll see.
