This is probably obvious for all of the net-savvy wigbers, but this wouldn't be the first time I've stated the obvious.

Before buying *anything* online, do a search for a coupon code before checking out. I can find a discount (usually 10%) about 70% of the time.

"Because it's real," I said. "Hard to explain, harder to understand."

see I never have luck with that, I always get sites obviously designed to slam you with ads for products rather than real working coupon codes.

Some online shops give away 'secret' codes that users can enter when ordering, that trigger specific discounts.

Those codes are sometimes spread on boards or mailing list.

FP, I usually just google the company name and "coupon code" is that the way you search?

close...I use the company name and their phrase next to the box where you enter the code... so for the aftershave I used "mankind offer code"

Actually first I checked ukfrenzy.co.uk because the codes they have often work, but they didn't have any codes for mankind.

I bought a dress at a garage sale last weekend. A large moomo style dress, Just to wear around the house, mind you. Well, the other day I went to the corner market in it and got all kinds of STARES. Turns out that its a breast feeding dress. There is a clever slit in the folds of the front chest area. I wasnt wearing a bra.

everyone is entitled to my opinion

From gear lust aroused here
in the WGB Cooking School thread, the Berti Carving and Bread knives for USD 109.94 (shipped).

Ok, reading that, it appears I have a funny notion of what it means to be a cheapskate.

FYI for cheap skates www.woot.com is selling new Roomba robotic vaccum right now for US$150 which is a pretty good price. I love mine and FP I think still uses hers a lot too.

Just got a 3 month subscription to Amazon Prime. (They're hoping I'll forget to cancel it in time - but I've marked my calendar...) Free 2 day shipping (in the US - good only for gifts) until the end of August!

I bought a metric shitload of used Arabia Ruska plates, cups, etc. designed by Ulla Propoke for $140 USD. Hoping to sell off the bits I don't need (about 50% of it) for $80 USD

Half of a metric shitload

These are the bits I'll try to sell. The stuff we're keeping is behind the cutting board.

I'm selling my XBOX.
Two controllers and two cheap DDR mats.
My only genuine game is Dance UK : a DDR clone with British pop.

The console is duly modded :
It can handle copied games from any origin.
It has a built-in FTP server and client (I don't remember the hard disk size).
It can run emulators, although I never got around to installing any.
It has a huge library of DDR tracks (all I could find on eMule : moer than 5GB), playable with stepmania (installed).

I burned a few games :
- Ninja Gaiden Black
- Call of Cthulhu : Dark Corners of the Earth
- Halo 2
- DDR Extreme 3

I think that's it.

I haven't decided on a price.

First I need to know if I can set the console so that English is its default language instead of French.
