Enjoy The Corner if you've never seen it. Then watch the first 4 seasons of the Wire for more awesomeness.

I haven't seen "The Corner" but I was a big fan of "Homicide: Life on the Street" which David Simon was involved with too. And I will definetely go on to The Wire - I'd already gotten hold of season 1 and 2 so finding "The Corner" was great, it feels like a link between the two.

Totally and utterly devoted to Homicide: Life on the Street, I have bid on boxsets of The Corner several times on eBay. I haven't won one yet. I have had season one of The Wire waiting in the wings for months but I kinda feel like I should see The Corner first. Call me Mr Stickler.

Ooh! I love this thread! In the past year or so, I've been working on my coupon/grocery skills. Yesterday I bought $85 worth of groceries for only $50. I was fairly pleased with myself.

last night, on way home, stopped at 24hrs supermarket.
resisted "century rain" by alastiar reynolds for £5. since i still haven't finished either of the two books i have by him. also resisted his two novellas in one book, since i have half of it already in best SF collection.

did buy "felix the cat: movie" on dvd for £1.
and "nina simone:songs to sing" for £5, my third nina "best of", all of them having some overlap, but i don't think i have half these tracks, and it has a non-live version of one of my favourites (see line woman).

having talked to blueshift about robert ludlum and the bourne series, and seeing the trailer for the new film, i decided to give in and buy "the bourne identity" last night for £4 on dvd. however, standing there with the last copy in my hand, i flicked through the multi film packs - the random films pacakged together for no apparent reason - and buried in that pile was the bourne pack - both identity and supremacy for £5. i left the single disc sitting and bought the double, score!

Managed to get 5 Kodak 400TMax films for a total of 12 euro. Now that's an excellent bargain.

Found these two for 30 sek, or about $4.50. Haven't really read any of Banks sci fi stuff before so I'm looking forward that one. And hey, he's got a WG-blurb: "Banks is a phenomenon...wildly successful, fearlessly creative."

Pallets.

Hugh shipment at work and the lorry driver refused to take them back. Shame to waste. Threw them in my VW and dropped em at my dad's allotment - he keeps chickens and raises everything - access for cats i.e no rats!

A little something for nothing. I felt good.

Where do they all come from and where do they go? A year in the life of a pallet...

I've got 4-5 pallets laying in and around our carport. Shipments of dirt, play houses, etc.

I just keeping - I'm sure I can use them for something.
