I like to think the theme from Jaws plays in your head every time you go to work.

Seriously, bad design makes me angry.

I hereby declare Boogerhead the only truthful motherfucker on this board and that's why we love him.

As for this thread, this is the most interesting thing on this board right now in my opinion because I'm terribly confused how a wigber who is a father, lawyer and Gibson lover could possibly think that site is OK. It so puzzles me that I went back and dug around in satyriasis' old posts to try and figure this out. I find nothing... I'm pretty sure on page three he will post, "I did it for the lulz!"

Damn. You made me look.

I don't think it's quite as bad as all that. There are a few things that need fixing. ("Your Case Is Our Top Priority" is hanging off the bottom of that colored heading bar there, making the tails of the 'p' and 'y' invisible. And a better picture in the top right, please. The flash glare and tilted horizon do not say "professional" to me.) It could be better, but aside from these things it looks serviceable enough. I haven't done more than skim the text though.

Why don't you show me a better design, Boog? I'd probably even pay for it.

having never been to LA this sounds like you are located at the corner of Stab Me and Run.

Seriously is it a bad neighborhood? Because that makes it sound pretty bad.

Colin, don't look at the text too closely. Some of the writing will make you scream.

It reads like it was written by, well, a lawyer.

Okay. Serious now. Here's what you do for a good lawyers site.

Get rid of all frames. Bland, one color background.

Your name. Address. Phone number. Email.

What types of law you practice.

That's it. One page. Just the facts. Nothing about how dedicated you are or any of that.

Already got more design work than I need.
These guys, asshats that they are, have a decent site.
As do we...
And them...

first thing you do, is design a simple classy logo.

The rest will fall into place.

Get a pencil and some paper, and sketch a hundred.

One of them might be useful.

We don't do law firm art.

But I work for the lawyers in other capacities, and marketing is one of them.

How much would you pay?

You mentioned a price at the start of the thread and your response to that. I'm wondering what you think is a fair price for a professional website, both design and excecution.
