The network has just announced its new development slate for the coming year, which includes an 8-week series of "mini-sodes" leading up to Battlestar Galactica: Razor and ... drumroll ... the return of Farscape.

Their SG1 commitments are over, however, the cast hasn't been announced for the return of Farscape either. The last press release I saw only said that the new series will be "based in the Farscape universe" it could very well be a spinoff, or only include some of the original characters from the show.

I'm still having trouble accepting that those are the final 5. My original thoughts were that the writers wanted us to beleive that they were the final five, but it will turn out they are some sort of ancient human counterparts to the final five, the ones that the final five were based on or something. their "awakening" was really some awakening to their ancient purpose or something. I guess I just don't want them to be Cylons, but the writers have referred to them being Cylons plenty of times since then so I guess I just have to accept it. It really does completely change the entire series tho and they will really have to make a convincing explaination as to how they came to be. I mean the chances that these five, who the other Cylons themselves don't even recognize, would end up on the same ship after surviving the obliteration of an entire civilization of people spread across 12 planets, one of whom barely missed being rescued from an abandoned planet . . . well the chances are astronomical. I'm willing to overlook all that if it makes for a compelling story, which so far the writers have been able to offer.

This is why I overlook all of Colin's peeves. I think the interface thing with Sharon is just one of those messes writers get themselves into where they are forced to use a convenient but flimsy plot device just to keep things rolling. For example, I seem to recal reading an interview somewhere that asked why we didn't see the glowing Cylon spines anymore throughout the series or how that isn't a factor in how a Cylon can be identified. Their answer basicly was that when they wrote the glowing spines bit, they just thought it was cool and made for a nice sinister way to reveal a Cylon to the audience. But later when it became necessary to the plot for a Cylon to be indistinguishable from any Human, they dropped the whole glowing spine thing. They said that if they could, they would remove the glowing spines from the story, but those episodes were already shot and aired so they just had to hope nobody would notice.

Were they?
I would rather see a ressurection of Farscpae more than almost any other modern show. (post 2001-2002 say)

Farscape Revived On SCIFI.COM!

SCI FI Channel will revive its popular original show Farscape as a Web-based series of short films on SCIFI.COM's SCI FI Pulse broadband network, part of a slate of new original online programming.

SCI FI has ordered 10 webisodes of Farscape, to be produced by Brian Henson and Robert Halmi Jr. and produced by The Jim Henson Co., in association with RHI Entertainment.

The series will expand the Farscape universe, but the network had no announcements on casting or premiere dates.

Fans will still be curious, when the time comes.

And don't forget that Razor (the Battlestar Pegasus mini-series) will be out next month.

Naah. I could wait for as long as it takes and I'll be there on day 1. I'm not as impatient as I used to be about things like this for some reason.

Besides, even if the fans do jump ship, it's the final season so what are they gonna do? cancel the show?
