As a homage to Fashionpolice, the original WGB Addict.

I am a WGB Addict since June 2003. The longest I have gone cold turkey has been one month, and that pesky withdrawal had me doing strange things at the end.

For a time I tried to ration myself, one post a day. But I could not resist, and had to post and post.

A couple of times it has had a bad aftertaste, and those were the moments when I could have gone. But there is always a "friend" who offers you one last tidbit, and then you have to see by yourself...

And now the dealer is back in town, and although he sells for a purpose, I do not care. No more scrounging, no more low quality fixes.

Try the WGB. Your leisure time will disappear.

José

I used to be hopelessly addicted to the wgb when I had a DSL connection. Now that I am on the cheap slow phone line Its just too slow to really enjoy the board or even the internet at all. I miss this place!

Grmbl...
My matrix t-shirt is not worth a picture on the WGB.

I still consider myself as an addict, though.
Edit : Oooooooooh ! I registered before JRE !

My name is Splitcoil, and I'm a WGB addict. I'd have bought a t-shirt, but I spent all my money on a new monitor to view the WGB with.

Hurts, thanks for the html. Image edited to "normal" size. Have you stopped being an addict?

Found this hilarious for some reason. I think the 'everyting' had a lot to do with it. People who are addicted to this other board called Everyting Jamaican. There also seems to be an eerie number of Canadians on their board. I always assumed we just had that because WG lives there. Interesting.

Modified version of NA's questions to guage if you might be a drug addict:

1. Do you ever post on the WGB when no one else is on?
2. Have you ever tried posting on only one section of the Gibson board, thinking that one particular section was your problem?
3. Have you ever manipulated or lied to make time or get to an internet connection to check the WGB?
4. Do you regularly check the WGB when you wake up or when you go to bed?
5. Do you avoid people or places that do not approve of you posting on the WGB?
6. Do you go through cycles of lurking and post-pumping?
7. Do you communicate with board members in your personal life?
8. Has your job or school performance ever suffered because of your WGB usage?
9. Have you ever printed out threads to read later or reference?
10. Do you have a folder full of bookmarks of interesting WGB moments to use against people later.
11. Have you ever lied about how much time you spend on the WGB?
12. Is the WGB the homepage of your browser?
13. Do you frequently tell stories about things that have happened on the WGB to your meatspace friends and family?
14. Have you ever sat and reloaded the board when no one else was on?
15. Does your WGB usage interfere with your sleeping or eating?
16. Have you ever gone to check the WGB without noticing you were doing it?
17. Do you panic when the board is down?
18. Do you feel it is impossible for you to live without the WGB?
19. Have you ever tried to quit posting or lurking – and failed?
20. Have you ever used a Define Me word in real life?
21. Is your WGB use making life at home unhappy?
22. Have you ever felt defensive, guilty, or ashamed about your WGB use?
23. Have you ever spent more than an hour preparing information or content for a new thread, photo album or poll?
24. Has the WGB affected your sexual relationships?
25. Have you ever tried to attain some kind of WGB accomplishment (i.e. holding the top 10 most recent posts, number games with your post count, etc.)
26. Have you ever post on the WGB to cope with emotional pain or stress?
27. Have you ever deleted posts?
28. Do you continue to post despite negative consequences?
29. Do you think you might have a problem?

My score out of 29: 20.

[eyebrow]

[We'll let that slide]

Yeah... me too. So what? That doesn't mean I'm like -- enmeshed or anything.

Er, the hurty-one wants to let that slide, but I can't seem to get strange images out of my head.

"No, honey, not tonight, I have to lurk on the addicts thread."

I choose not to get explicit. Damn my imagination.

[very old wgb addict is happy for the young ones]

I am a wgb addict, and right now I should be working on two articles, both of which are more than two weeks delayed because of wgb overdosing.
