Leia for girl.
Luke for boy. Or the other way around, I'm not fussed. |

Jabba, in any case.

Ermm, I really think that this is a non-community decision.

We know that, but it takes it out of other non-related threads. |

Isn't it scared if you take that outside it's thread and put it into an empty one? ___________________________________________________________ "The best way to predict the future is to invent it." Alan Kay, 1971. |

I know. Who do you take me for?
We're not deciding. Just suggesting. Because it's fun. And because maybe, just maybe, someone will find an idea that Mr and Mrs Krad will both like. _____________________________ Albert's path is a strange and difficult one. |

In that case, may I suggest to not name the child "Hope" or "Paris" or anything like that at all .... because it isn't fun. ___________________________________________________________ "The best way to predict the future is to invent it." Alan Kay, 1971. |

I always liked Chia.
The character, rather then the name. ___________________________________________________________ "The best way to predict the future is to invent it." Alan Kay, 1971. |

That was one of my favourite things about Idoru, the naming of Chia Pet McKenzie _____________________________________ ::swoon:: |

With names it is important to consider what will be actually used, or may be actually used. So no matter how much you may like Michael, you better like Mickey or Mick because that will be it.
What about Zachariah Zebulon, to become Zed or ZZ? Zach and Zeb are both quite nice on their own, in my opinion. For a girl, Gertrude Gabrielle gets Gigi, or GG, with Gertie and Gaby as possibilities, allowing the possibility of tracking cliques by the nickname they use. In single names, something multisyllabic, so you can clearly signal when it is friendly and when you are series. Ulysses (Ulli) or Penelope (Penny) fit the bill, and are both traditional and unusual. However few girl names have the sheer chutzpah of Jezebel. Jes lets her also keep a low profile among bible thumpers. Or you could go the whole fanboy/girl and pick William or Wilhelmina (Mina!). As you can see I favor culturally appropiate names. Too confusing and too many possibilities. Retired |

When I was born, I was supposed to be referred to as one of two abbreviations of my name.
This did not come to pass. Such doings earned the Laser Stare of Doom even before I was walking. Going in for weird middle names is kind of cool. It is a source of embarrassment and a secret to reveal to future lovers. "Wait...your middle name is Penguin??" |

That one gets my vote, thanks to Bram Stoker.
I'm quite confident that it will very soon be okay to cross that line. All it will take are a few cool/famous people with 'post-geographic' names. _____________________________ Albert's path is a strange and difficult one. |
