I don't have any listening planned yet. But I did just stumble upon a fuck-tonne of unlabelled old mp3s from the college/vagabond/jam years. I need to figure out what all this shit is and label it.

System of a Down, B.Y.O.B several times, mostly cause of the load of times I threw at replaying it to 5 star it on expert.

But it's hot stuff anyway, reminds me of high school Pumpkins days. My own personal brand of shit. The music industry owes Guitar Hero a genuine, Hollywood backroom, 2-hour, deepthroated blow job.

I think 1812 was the first symphony I ever went to, outdoors at Waikiki, with the cannons. It's one of the most vivid memories of my pre-school days.

TV on the Radio - Dead Science

Kind of overlooked this when it came out, as it didn't grab me like Return to Cookie Mountain, but further listenings have revealed hidden depths.

Also been listening to some Bob Dylan. fantastic.

decent flick with an awesome soundtrack for Dylan fans. One of the most beautiful covers of One More Cup of Coffee that I have ever heard.

That song burrows into my brain and refuses to leave like a tapeworm stuck in with superglue. If I say that chorus even once I'll be yowling it out all evening in ever worsening vocals. hmmm maybe I should do that just to torture my coworkers.

Oh. Capriccio Italien!

I had that once. Divorce can be tough on your vinyls collection.

***makes mental note to repurchase on CD***

Amen, Sister. I used to have quite a collection of 12" singles, all gone now. Probably sold on Ebay for less than half what they're worth, too.

Revisiting Amon Tobin's "Freebie" section. Of especial interest is a mashup of the VU's "Venus in Furs" with Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Chile" (I think).

Intronaut - Prehistoricisms

Awesome follow-up to "The Challenger". Covers a lot more territory, and displays a latent virtuosity not really delved into before. Kind of a copmplexity through simplicity thing.

Good, solid and progressive metal.
