Question:
Recovering the old traditions, before the arrival of the post-pumping threads, I wonder what to do, at a personal level. And I miss the times when 666 had a meaning.

José

[Edited due to public demand. Sorry for those early voters]

Choices:
1. Party like a madman. Only you know how much that keyboard suffered.
2. Keep on as if nothing happened. There is nothing special about 1000 now.
3. Quit the WGB. It is like suicide, but without the blood.
4. Send JRE into retirement and get a new fresh identity. Reincarnation till the karma is balanced.
5. You will never get to 1000. Wait and see...

No choice there for 'party like it's 999' (or indeed, the precedented 'I'm Bravus'!)

I think an honestly earned 1000 is a milestone that definitely deserves some attention, but just for a few minutes. Then you just keep on posting the good stuff...

I don't like the given choices. They're all so negative...

I think crossing 1000 is special! Not as special as the registration date, which bytheway yours is way cool, but still quite indicative. Wink

I say the combination of those two is what gives JRE one of the most elite places on this forum.

I don't think 1000 is anything special, nor was it ever, except
to be a fine excuse for making a fuss about yourself.

Just keep posting. We all would appreciate it.

Yeah, well... I have a big enough head as it is.

And what's the big deal about a birthday anyway? Just cause the earth happens to complete its passage around the sun once? In theory, everyday could be a birthday, depending on the time frame you set.

How about coming to Copenhagen to celebrate?

Much as I would like to do so, that would mean delaying either the 1000th post or the party, as I am afraid I cannot get back to Copenhagen before September. However, I still have a visit pending to Værløse, so I trust in the eddies of greed and international trade to take me there. If I get time to party will depend on circumstances beyond my control.

You know, even if the questions were mostly negative, this is a serious poll, not a popularity bath. I am seriously considering several of those options (plus the new option, Copenhagen party, as there are no fellow WGB members in Zaragoza that I am aware of).

Just think of it like a marriage. Sometimes you have to change to remain the same.

Right now I feel like choosing 5, specially with the recent loss. Maybe when I get back from holidays, or if I manage to party in Copenhagen, will I continue onwards to 1000.

In the meantime, farewell (I have said that too many times here to actually believe it, however).

I voted for the party, 'cause I love birthdays. But really, I think you should just keep on going.
These days I don't feel like posting either. But there is a time for everything...

Well, I suppose I could sell a major organ and go get myself a black Buzz Rickson. . .

Lucky for me, I have a bit longer to figure out a coherent plan.

Your wish is my command, milady.

Now I have to get to 1000 before I leave Copenhagen.
