Those are some cool images the Lyonese put over their urban landscape.

Angora longjohns.
Good against bladder infections. Plus, I find the idea of people wearing angora longjohns funny, and that is a very good reason. ________ "You should've seen all the crazy shit I ate!" - James Stokoe |

I can only go with silk or polypropylene, as angora makes me v unhappy. Will one of those do, BtB?

Beautiful pictures, everyone. Mmh yes, a visit there next year would be a perfect excuse to wear angora undies... erm, as they seem to be the only kind effective for shielding against Lyon's radioactive refuse.

oh. friday night, we finished with drinks on a boat.
![]() ![]() ![]() and one last building one way home ![]() lunch the next day in classy style... ![]() ![]() ![]() we did the museum of cinema in the morning and museum of contemporary art (?) in the afternoon, which we got to via the park, where already they were projecting lights on to the gates ![]() ![]() at last someone takes aisha in hand! someone she can't lose in the crowd! ![]() and we all agree not to talk about babylon's driving ![]() there were some cool pieces incorporating light in the art museum as well ![]() once more out, into the city of lights and music ![]() ![]() ![]() down by the river there were strangers in the marshes ![]() ![]() then back to maison de limulus for an evening of food, drink, conversation and relaxation. before meeting at the market the morning after for more food, drink, conversation and relaxation. it was hard work i tell you! ![]() aisha bought sugared wafer things, which we were warned contained so much sugar they could be fatal. that didn't stop babylon... for long! ![]() ![]() if aisha hadn't been on a flight to south america, she'd totally have bought his cheese. but she did give him a sugared wafer. ![]() comedy double act ![]() ![]() view from our brunch table ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() the tables were in demand, always someone watching to see if we were leaving yet ![]() but there were oysters to be eaten! ![]() aisha left for her flight, and we went to another museum ![]() ![]() ![]() the museum did minatures and special effects, including those for perfume ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() then we went for hot drinks ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() by which time it was dark enough for more lights. the car and caravan hadn't been there on the friday night ![]() because of the number of people in the city all the stations had extra staff to make sure people got about ok ![]() babylon got a souvenier ![]() though nearly lost her memory card for her camera at the same time, though retrieved it thanks to heroic efforts! sunday we went to the other extreme of lights. the diy garage scene of installation works ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() each of these small sites had a plastic cup outside it, which had LEDs in them to attract attention. so we were wandering the block watching for these flashing things ![]() ![]() ![]() kind of a mix of bleak and lights ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() standing beneath the light, taking pictures of people taking pictures of me, and my reflection ![]() trying to work out what we've seen and where to go next ![]() the world, spinning. ![]() vibrating/rotating fibre optic type stuff ![]() ghost books, ghost shapes ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() space... ![]() limulette travels through space ![]() lasers in the streets ![]() ![]() she stood in the street snapping away, never knowing how close she had come... ![]() and then i set my idiot on fire, i mean i set my... ![]() ![]() and then...relax. japanese for dinner. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and with that, our trip to lyon was over. thanks to limulusususes for being hosts and guides. and thanks to all for sharing my birthday with me over a great weekend! and certainly if people are interested in doing it again next year it would be really cool This message has been edited. King Real, your pictures of sunday night are very good.
I just learned that a didot is the smallest unit of measure in typography. And as you said if people are interested in doing this next year, it would be very cool. We should be there... unlike traitors who ran away from our country. Just sayin' -<) |

I think in the poster they're referring to the typeface family. (I wasn't aware of a measurement named Didot.) Edit: Ah, I see. |

Well it might be possible to render these traitors to Lyon in time for next year's festival, if the price is right.. |

Limulus, have they publicised the dates for 2009 yet?

Traitors would get what they deserve: a kneecap job.
Serif fonts would get what they deserve: the delete key or the corporate texts. The date is always the same: december, 8th. And usually the closest week-end. -<) |

My phots are on flickr!
Tagged Brazil but never mind that-- starting here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/shees/page3/ Pges 3 - 6 are all lovely Lyon-- and you gorgeous wigbers plus non-wigbers who might as well be wigbers Most of the pics are duplicates of what you guys have posted-- but without blur (as in Remote and Babylon's too-- she hangs out way too much with that man) and lacking the finesse of Limulus I may post any that strike oyu as terrific by popular demand-- I do like the ones from Brasserie Georges and the restroom moment catching Remote taking pics... oh and -- yes, wait: |
