_Hells Bells_

I'm a rolling thunder, a pouring rain
I'm comin' on like a hurricane
My lightning's flashing across the sky
You're only young but you're gonna die
I won't take no prisoners, won't spare no lives
Nobody's putting up a fight
I got my bell, I'm gonna take you to hell
I'm gonna get you, Satan get you

Hell's Bells
Yeah, Hell's Bells
You got me ringing Hell's Bells
My temperature's high, Hell's Bells

I'll give you black sensations up and down your spine
If you're into evil you're a friend of mine
See my white light flashing as I split the night
'Cause if good's on the left, then I'm stickin' to the right
I won't take no prisoners, won't spare no lives
Nobody's puttin' up a fight
I got my bell, I'm gonna take you to hell
I'm gonna get you, Satan get you

Hell's Bells
Yeah, Hell's Bells
You got me ringing Hell's Bells
My temperature's high, Hell's Bells

yeow
Hell's Bells, Satan's comin' to you
Hell's Bells, he's ringing them now
Hell's Bells, the temperature's high
Hell's Bells, across the sky
Hell's Bells, they're takin' you down
Hell's Bells, they're draggin' you around
Hell's Bells, gonna split the night
Hell's Bells, there's no way to fight, yeah

Ow, ow, ow, ow

Hell's Bells

Gustav weird

Man in Black
Johnny Cash

Well, you wonder why I always dress in black,
Why you never see bright colors on my back,
And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone.
Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on.

I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down,
Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town,
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime,
But is there because he's a victim of the times.

I wear the black for those who never read,
Or listened to the words that Jesus said,
About the road to happiness through love and charity,
Why, you'd think He's talking straight to you and me.

Well, we're doin' mighty fine, I do suppose,
In our streak of lightnin' cars and fancy clothes,
But just so we're reminded of the ones who are held back,
Up front there ought 'a be a Man In Black.

I wear it for the sick and lonely old,
For the reckless ones whose bad trip left them cold,
I wear the black in mournin' for the lives that could have been,
Each week we lose a hundred fine young men.

And, I wear it for the thousands who have died,
Believen' that the Lord was on their side,
I wear it for another hundred thousand who have died,
Believen' that we all were on their side.

Well, there's things that never will be right I know,
And things need changin' everywhere you go,
But 'til we start to make a move to make a few things right,
You'll never see me wear a suit of white.

Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day,
And tell the world that everything's OK,
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back,
'Till things are brighter, I'm the Man In Black.

Seconds - U2
quote:
Takes a second to say goodbye
Say goodbye, oh, oh, oh
It takes a second to say goodbye
Say goodbye, oh, oh, oh, say bye bye
Where you going to now
Lightning flashes across the sky
East to west, do or die
Like a thief in the night
See the world by candlelight

Fall, rise and...fall, rise and...

In an apartment on Time Square
You can assemble them anywhere
Held to ransom, hell to pay
A revolution everyday
USSR, GDR, London, New York, Peking
It's the puppets, it's the puppets
Who pull the strings

Fall, rise and...fall, rise and...

Say goodbye, say goodbye
Say goodbye, say goodbye
Say goodbye

It takes a second to say goodbye
Say goodbye, oh, oh, oh

Push the button and pull the plug
Say goodbye, oh, oh, oh

Fall, rise and...fall, rise and...

And they're doing the atomic bomb
Do they know where the dance comes from
Yes they're doing the atomic bomb
They want you to sing along
Say goodbye, say goodbye
Say goodbye

By Starlight - Smashing Pumpkins
quote:
By starlight Ill kiss you
And promise to be your one and only
Ill make you feel happy
And leave you to be lost in mine
And where will we go, what will we do?
Soon said i, will know

Dead eyes, are you just like me?
cause her eyes were as vacant as the seas
Dead eyes, are you just like me?

And all along, we knew wed carry on just to belong

By starlight I know you
As lovely as a wish granted true
My life has been empty, my life has been untrue
And does she really know, who I really am?
Does she really know me at last

Dead eyes, are you just like me?

Every once in a while, I have to sing this song.
This time, it's for Billy.

quote:
Explorador, by ALL.

cigarettes.
beyond black shades.
see him yet?
youll never see his face.

we used to joke about foggy mornings
when no ones around i start talking.
i guess you wanted it to be this way
and i cant say i didnt see it coming.

if anyone died with a drink in his hand i know you did.
if anyone died with i smile on his face i guess you did.
you always had the ends to my means.
i'd drive when you had to much drugs.
i guess life doesnt mean that much when you already know it all.

if anyone ever died with a smile on his face i know you did.
if anyone ever died with a drink in his hand i know you did.
but there was alcohol on your last breath and i dont need you anymore
if your life means nothing to you,
your death means nothing to me.

dead hero, sleep.

you were,
but now
you're not.

theres something romantic
about the man who went down with his ship.
and i can tell all my friends
about the hero who died at sea.

everybody humors, everyone laughs
when i tell about the things youve done.
but theres nothing romantic,
about the empty shoreline where i wait.

if anyone ever died with a smile on his face i know you did.
if anyone ever died with a drink in his hand i know you did.
but there was poison in your frozen blood.
and i dont need you anymore.
if your life meant nothing to you then your death means nothing to me.

dead hero, sleep.
you were,
but now
you're not.

i go to the shore and wait.
i see the power of nature.
i understand the nature of power.
i do not
accept this loss
of you.

dead hero, sleep.
you live.

'Bye, Billy.

Ween - Mutilated Lips

I lick my brain in silence
Rather squeeze my head instead
Midget man provoking violence
Listen not to what I said

I said please calm it down
Everything is turning brown

Mutilated lips give a kiss on the wrist
Of the worm like tips of tentacles expanding
In my mind, I'm fine, accepting only fresh brine
You can get another drop of this, yeah you wish...

Laughing lady living lover
Ooo you sassy frassy lassie
Find me the skull of Haile Sellase, I...
Give me shoes so I can tapsy
Tap all over this big world
Take my hand you ugly girl

Mutilated lips give a kiss on the wrist
Of the worm like tips of tentacles expanding
In my mind, I'm fine, accepting only fresh brine
You can get another drop of this, yeah you wish...

So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
blue skies from pain.

Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil?

Do you think you can tell?

And did they get you trade your heroes for ghosts?

Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cold breeze?

Cold comfort for change? And did you exchange

a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here.

We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl,
year after year,
running over the same old ground. What have we found?

The same old fears,
wish you were here.

And from that...

All My Friends - LCD Soundsystem

That's how it starts.
We go back to your house.
We check the charts,
And start to figure it out.

And if it's crowded, all the better,
because we know we're gonna be up late.
But if you're worried about the weather
then you picked the wrong place to stay.
That's how it starts.

And so it starts.
You switch the engine on.
We set controls for the heart of the sun,
one of the ways we show our age.

And if the sun comes up, if the sun comes up, if the sun comes up
and I still don't wanna stagger home.
Then it's the memory of our betters
that are keeping us on our feet.

You spent the first five years trying to get with the plan,
and the next five years trying to be with your friends again.

You're talking 45 turns just as fast as you can,
yeah, I know it gets tired, but it's better when we pretend.

It comes apart,
the way it does in bad films.
Except in parts,
when the moral kicks in.

Though when we're running out of the drugs
and the conversation's winding away.
I wouldn't trade one stupid decision
for another five years of lies.

You drop the first ten years just as fast as you can,
and the next ten people who are trying to be polite.
When you're blowing eighty-five days in the middle of France,
Yeah, I know it gets tired only where are your friends tonight?

And to tell the truth.
Oh, this could be the last time.
So here we go,
like a sales force into the night

And if I made a fool, if I made a fool, if I made a fool
on the road, there's always this.
And if I'm sewn into submission,
I can still come home to this.

And with a face like a dad and a laughable stand,
you can sleep on the plane or review what you said.
When you're drunk and the kids leave impossible tasks
you think over and over, "hey, I'm finally dead."

Oh, if the trip and the plan come apart in your hand,
you look contorted on yourself your ridiculous prop.
You forgot what you meant when you read what you said,
and you always knew you were tired, but then,
where are your friends tonight?

Where are your friends tonight?
Where are your friends tonight?

If I could see all my friends tonight,
If I could see all my friends tonight,
If I could see all my friends tonight,
If I could see all my friends tonight

Farewell and Goodnight - Smashing Pumpkins
quote:
Goodnight, to every little hour that you sleep tite
May it hold you through the winter of a long night
And keep you from the loneliness of yourself
Heart strung, is your heart frayed and empty
cause its hard luck, when no one understands your love
Its unsung, and I say

(chorus)
Goodnight, my love, to every hour and every day
Goodnight, always, to all thats pure thats in your heart

Goodnight, may your dreams be so happy and your
Head lite with the wishes of a sandman and a night light
Be careful not to let the bedbugs
Sleep tight nestled in your covers

(2x)
The sun shines, but I dont
The silver rain will wash away

And you can tell, its just as well

East Bound and Down
Jerry Reed

East bound and down, loaded up and truckin'
a'we gonna do what they say can't be done
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there
I'm east bound just watch ol'Bandit run

Keep your foot hard on the peddle...son, never mind them brakes
let it all hang out cause we've got a run to make
The boys are thirsty in Atlanta, and there's beer in Texarcana
and we'll bring it back no matter what it takes

East bound and down, loaded up and truckin'
a'we gonna do what they say can't be done
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there
I'm east bound just watch ol'Bandit run ......

( banjo & guitar solo )

Old Smokey's got them ears on, he's hot on your trail
and he ain't gonna rest 'till you're in jail
So you gotta dodge him.... you gotta duck him
You've gotta keep that diesel truckin....
just put that hammer down and give it hell

East bound and down, loaded up and truckin'
a'we gonna do what they say can't be done
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there
I'm east bound just watch ol'Bandit run

Waco Brothers, "Bad times are coming round again" (1995)

we all knew things had to get better
if we kept acting rational and sane
now i can see the clouds on the horizon
bad times coming round again

the sun ripens corn across the country
shares are rising on the stock exchange
people making hay while the sun shines
cos bad times are coming round again

bad times coming round
bad times coming round
bad times coming round again

you might need a drink
but you don't need a weather vane
bad times coming round again

black slaves shipped here in their millions
worked and died til freedom was won
now you look around for that freedom
see it slipping down the barrel of a gun
white men in grey suits lose all direction
white men in hoods are back again
running in the 96 election
bad times coming round again

bad times coming round
bad times coming round
bad times coming round again
board up your window
it might be a hurricane
bad times coming round again

yuppies come and gentrify your neighborhood
crusties say they fight it to the end
no one asks the black or the latino
bad times coming round again

Paul Kelly - Bicentennial

A ship is sailing into harbour
A party's waiting on the shore
And they're running up the flag now
And they want us all to cheer

Charlie's head nearly reaches the ceiling
But his feet don't touch the floor
>From a prison issue blanket his body's swinging
He won't dance any more
Take me away from your dance floor
Leave me out of your parade
I have not the heart for dancing
For dancing on his grave

Hunted man out on the Barcoo
Broken man on Moreton Bay
Hunted man across Van Diemen's
Hunted man all swept away

Take me away from your dance floor
Leave me out of your parade
I have not the heart for dancing
For dancing on his grave

Well Ive opened up my veins too many times
And the poisons in my heart and in my mind
Poisons in my bloodstream
Poisons in my pride
Im after rebellion
Ill settle for lies

Is it any wonder that my minds on fire
Imprisoned by the thoughts of what to do
Is it any wonder that my jokes an iron
And the jokes on you

Experiments that failed too many times
Transformations that were too hard to find
Poisons in my bloodstream
Poisons in my pride
Im after rebellion
Ill settle for lies

Yes I know the secrets of the iron and mind
Theyre trinity acts, a mineral fire
Yes I know the secrets of the circuitry mind
Its a flaming wonder telepath

Well Ive opened up my veins too many times
And the poisons in my heart and in my mind
Poisons in my bloodstream
Poisons in my pride
Im after rebellion
Ill settle for lies

Is it any wonder that my minds on fire

power is as sacred to that they never even teach
only if it's black or white see the challenges
open eyes are broken if you'd just consider me
cut you loose, i feel like i gotta gotta go!..

Wolf City/
Amon Duul II

Wolf City
You are a pearl
Without pity
Your glory
Is like ice cream
Dripping on the skin of a girl
And your voodoo-graph
Is going to conquer the world
While the greyhound
Leans back in the president's chair
And thousands of children
On their way home
Gasp for fresh air
Your servants
Set up a lean-horse-monument
In the alley of cars
A queue with no end
And thousands of cows
Rush into bars
On a wall I see
Many strange signs
They say: Johnny B. Goode!

I am a member of the council of the naval mutiny
And no traitor to my conscience having done my sworn duty
These are my last words before the scaffold and I charge you all to hear
How a wretched British sailor became a citizen mutineer
Pressed into service to carry powder I was loyal to the crack of the whip
If I starved on the streets of Bristol, I starved worse on a British ship
Red is the colour of the new republic
Blue is the colour of the sea
White is the colour of my innocence
Not surrender to your mercy
I was woken from my misery by the words of Thomas Paine
On my barren soil they fell like the sweetest drops of rain
Red is the colour of the new republic
Blue is the colour of the sea
White is the colour of my innocence
Not surrender to your mercy
So in the spring of the year we took the fleet
Every cask and cannon and compass sheet
And we flew a Jacobean flag to give us heart
While Pitt stood helpless we were waiting for Bonaparte
Red is the colour of the new republic
Blue is the colour of the sea
White is the colour of my innocence
Not surrender to your mercy
All you soldiers, all you sailors, all you labourers of the land
All you beggars, all you builders, all you come here to watch me hang
To the masters we are the rabble, we are the `swinish multitude'
But we can re-arrange the colours of the red and the white and the blue
Red is the colour of the new republic
Blue is the colour of the sea
White is the colour of my innocence
Not surrender to your mercy
Red is the colour of the new republic
Blue is the colour of the sea
White is the colour of my innocence
Not surrender to your mercy

Megadeth - Five Magics

---

Bestow upon me knowledge,
Wizard all knowing all wise.
I want to rule this Kingdom,
Make sweet the breeze now defiled,
Dethrone the evil prince’s iron fists
In velvet gloves of sin,
Parade the grey robed monks,
The vestal virgins, wheel the wyvern’s in.

Let the ceremony consecrate marriage.
Let me be the protege of five magics.
Give me Alchemy.
Give me Wizardry.
Give me Sorcery.
Thermatology.
Electricity.
Magic if you place.
Master all of these,
Bring him to his knees.
I master five magics.
I master five magics.
I master five magics.
I master five magics.

Possessed with hellish torment,
–Possessed with hellish torment,
I master magics “5".
–I master magics “5".
Hunting the Abyss Lord,
–Hunting the Abyss Lord,
Only one will stay alive.
–Only one will stay alive.
He who lives by the sword,
–He who lives by the sword,
Will surely also die.
–Will surely also die.
He who lives in sin,
–He who lives in sin,
Will surely live the lie.

Monster Magnet - God Says No

Fireing my friend
But I come back again and again
I just can't pretend
One more step and I'll start to bend

You try and live
And God says no

We go on our way
Just waiting for that lucky day
I tried every way
Just so that God can blow me away

I need some love
To start the show
But ask just once
And God says no

A lot of dust slides through my head
Scary thoughts like wishing we were dead
You won't get caught if you don't get queer
And you'll be ready for a new frontier

It's good to be bad
It's the best time you'll ever have
What the hell is this ultra sad
Pray for your cool and work on that ass

You learn too much
You'll never know
Just start to laugh
And God says no

A point of life flies through my head
A scary thought like I was someone else
And don't get lost now and show no fear
And you'll be ready for a new frontier

A lot of dust slides through my head
And scary thoughts like wishing we were dead
You won't get caught if you don't get queer
And you'll be ready for a new frontier
For a new frontier

As far as I'm concerned, I prefer silent vice to ostentatious virtue.

quote:
I see that lantern trimmed low burning in our home.
And though I feel like crying, I swear tonight, I'll cry no more.

How many times have I prayed
That I would get lost along the way?

Dream with the feathers of angels stuffed beneath your head.
The regulator's swinging pendulum.

Come with me and walk the longest mile.

Is his wallet leather? Is his wallet fat?
For not a year later it's got you lying on your back.
You should have closed your windows and got another dog.
You should have chained up all the doors and switched up all the locks.

And how many times have I prayed
The angels would speed me away.

Dream with the feathers of angels stuffed beneath your head.
The regulator's swinging pendulum.

Come with me and walk the longest mile.

Greetings:This is the Secretary of War at the State Department
of the United States
We have a problem.
The companies want something done about this sluggish
world economic situation
Profits have been running a little thin lately
and we need to stimulate some growth
Now we know
there's an alarmingly high number of young people roaming
around in your country with nothing to do but stir up trouble
for the police and damage private property.
It doesn't look like they'll ever get a job
It's about time we did something constructive with these people
We've got thousands of 'em here too. They're crawling all over
The companies think it's time we all sit down, have a serious get-together-
And start another war
The President?
He loves the idea! All those missiles streaming overhead to and fro
Napalm
People running down the road, skin on fire
The Soviets seem up for it:
The Kremlin's been itching for the real thing for years.
Hell, Afghanistan's no fun
So whadya say?
We don't even have to win this war.
We just want to cut down on some of this excess population
Now look. Just start up a draft; draft as many of those people as you can.
We'll call up every last youngster we can get our hands on,
hand 'em some speed, give 'em an hour or two to learn how to use
an automatic rifle and send 'em on their way
Libya? El Salvador? How 'bout Northern Ireland?
Or a "moderately repressive regime" in South America?
We'll just cook up a good Soviet threat story
in the Middle East-we need that oil
We had Libya all ready to go and Colonel Khadafy's hit squad
didn't even show up. I tell ya
That man is unreliable.
The Kremlin had their fingers on the button just like we did for that one
Now just think for a minute-We can make this war so big-so BIG
The more people we kill in this war, the more the economy will prosper
We can get rid of practically everybody on your dole queue if we plan this right.
Take every loafer on welfare right off our computer rolls
Now don't worry about demonstrations-just pump up your drug supply.
So many people have hooked themselves on heroin
and amphetamines since we took over, it's just like Vietnam.
We had everybody so busy with LSD they never got too strong.
Kept the war functioning just fine
It's easy.
We've got our college kids so interested in beer
they don't even care if we start manufacturing germ bombs again.
Put a nuclear stockpile in their back yard,
they wouldn't even know what it looked like
So how 'bout it? Look-War is money.
The arms manufacturers tell me unless
we get our bomb factories up to full production
the whole economy is going to collapse
The Soviets are in the same boat.
We all agree the time has come for the big one, so whadya say?!?
That's excellent. We knew you'd agree
The companies will be very pleased.
