DAMN YOU MoM! After reading that say damn quote, I was gonna start a thread like this!

Still, you saved me the hassle.

quote:
"It's a $49 plan, but you get $250 worth of call credit! I don't know how they make money off it.

Some naive hipster on a Brisbane bus. Felt like banging his noggin into the seat in front of him, saying "Do you really *bonk* think that *bonk* it costs *bonk* the telco *bonk* 25 cents every time *bonk* you send a text? *bonk* *bonk-bonk-bonkity-bonk*"

Oh my. I did this?!?

It was just an innocent thing I overheard that made me want to reach for a Glock.

Did I mention it was a group of young(!) teen girls and the comment prompted lots of head nodding and giggles?

Kids these days with their Xboxes and iChunes!

Was der hahn ?!?!?

Now that brings up an interesting image. What does a pumpkin reaper wear? Is he all hollowed out?

I was thinking of starting a thread about "unexpected occurences of humanity",
but I guess that would now be redundant.

What got me thinking about it, is a conversation I overheard five years ago, and which I never forgot.

I was waiting at a MacDonald's.
The queue was long, and I was stuck behind two women in their fifites.
Their conversation was absolutely boring and I was seriously considering slapping them both,
and make theml promise not be be pawns anymore.

But then, oone of them said :
"You know... last night I had the weirdest dream.
I dreamt I was with the boy from 'Princess Mononoke'.
He was holding me in his arms, and we kissed passionately.
Then I woke up, and I was certain it was real.
It took me a few minute to realize that I was alone in my bedroom."

Not only had this 50 years old boring woman seen the movie
(which had barely been released, and with very little advertisement).
But on top of that, she had dreams and passion in her (and was aware of how boring her life is).

I would never have suspected it from the way she behaved previously.

People have souls, too!

Does anyone have other stories of the same kind?

About how random people can say something that makes them look more human to you.

Overheard in Books Etc on Sunday. Conversation between an elderly woman and her middle aged daughter (I assume):

Mother "When I was in here last week they had lots of money off offers on the books, but now they just have these 3 for 2 offers. Who wants a 3 for 2 offer? You only need 1 book".

If you're a reall blueblood, you can use "family name" - just so everyone knows who Daddy is!

"Are you cookin' tonight?" She is yelling to the occupant of another car.

(inaudible reply)

"I said, are you cookin' tonight?"

(inaudible reply)

"Fuck that, I'm gonna get me some meat!"

I assume other party to this conversation was one of the TVP advocates from the other thread.

Overheard in Murano, Venice, at a working class panninoteca (sandwich bar). Three French women enter, and unaware of my knowledge of the language, talk quite loudly:

#1 "Do you think this is a good place to eat?"
#2 "Look, it is full of men, and all are eating."
#3 "As if they knew anything about food..."

Laughs, and they sat down. They did not choose well, however.
