******Sorry Spoiler The whole Ummagumma deja vu thing was cool as hell. But, the fact that WG observed this little jewel. Awesome! quote: He had a PlayStation handset modified to allow him to control a number of small, infrared, black-and-white cameras, originally intending to use them to obtain covert imagery of the crowd, which he then mixes for display on the various screens above the stage. Mind you don't pick your nose at a U2 concert.

If they REALLY want to do themselves a favour, they should hire some killer promoter and have a humongous "Mudstock" Concert to raise money for the city of New Orleans. It would probably be THE largest Blues venue ever. What ever happened to those? Must be an artifact from the 80's.

"Evidence he is writing a book set in 12th century Holland?" He's trying to outstephen Stephenson.

I dunno, guys. I DO think it's kinda telling that he's looking for female Dutch names, but I wouldn't read that much into it. I mean, with names like "Chevette Washington" and "Chia Pet McKenzie" one cannot take Mr. Gibson's naming conventions too seriously. Then again, interesting character names can make for an interesting read, n'est pas? I mean, I named a character of mine "Roswell Grant" and that seemed like a good 70% of the story right there...
Imagine: A thousand Buddhist eyes staring at you from across a rice-paddy field, the zeal and hunger in their eyes. And one lifts his fist high in the air, raising the battlecry, "EMBRACE THE TAO!!!!" Then organized chaos ensues.

Dude, if WG names one of his protagonists "Crapahilda" I will personally chip his name into the Kickarse Literary Wall of Fame with my teeth.

12th century Holland? There was no 12th century Holland! Okay, maybe if you did some serious searching you might've been able to find some lost Germanic, Roman or Celt trapped in the swamps somewhere, but that's about it. OTOH, I'm sure Gibson's capable to write an mindblowing novel even about those times. Seriously, though, as far as I know, there was no Dutch language at that time, either. So I think those women's names WG mentioned are more likely to be Germanic (Frankish?).

Well excuse me for being a history know-nothing who couldn't be bothered to google the history of Holland. Actually I had been feeling badly that WG said "before 1100", so I should have said 11th century, but obviously my mistakes run far deeper than that. Anyway, evidence that he's writing a book set before 1100 in the place we now know as Holland?

Mmmhh... Cunegunda? That name almost unearths some memory but it gets stuck in the way out. An old comic-book character? Sheeez, I've got it on the tip of my mind...
