Thank you Colin.
All together too cool. I have lived long enough to know that there is no such thing as paranoia. Not in the 21st century. no. Paranoia is just another word for ignorance.-Hunter S. Thompson |

I was thinking the other day that it was time for me to re-read the VL trilogy.
Every time I read/re-read/re-re-read one of WG's books, I notice more fine detail or make connections that somehow escaped me previously. I've never revisited one and found the experience unrewarding or stale. God, that makes me sound like a pathetic fanboy. Still, I guess I'm among friends! ----------------------------- "Tragedy is when I cut my finger; comedy is when you walk into an open sewer and die." -- Mel Brooks |

Argh! I messed that up.
Yes Gromit, you're among friends. I've reread them all several times and always enjoy them. If I don't find something I missed, at least I find that I relate to it differently. Anyone for a nano-mechanical Difference Engine?
That's definitely Gibsonian. ----------------------------- "Tragedy is when I cut my finger; comedy is when you walk into an open sewer and die." -- Mel Brooks |

If Molly knitted, she'd do so with some of these bad boys:

Continuing with my music snippet posts, turns out (and yes I am hiding under a rock so don't bite) there is a Hungarian composer called Yonderboi, and he will be playing less than 1km from where I live on August 31st.
I'll have him sign my copy of Neuromancer, hehe (since WGB himself never comes to Russia (St.Petersburg in particular) anyway, [sniff]) /\/\ike |

Speaking of which, it just occurred to me this might be a nice occasion to hang a poster for Spook Country for a savvy crowd to see, in a not-covered-by-book-tour part of the world; or something to that tune. If whoever deals with promotion will see this and happen to be interested in the idea, I can get you in touch with the concert organizers/promoters. Just a thought. crazy quasigibsonian ideas while at work mode off /\/\ike |

Remember that 'Separated by Birth' software in Virtual Light? The program that told Rydell he looked like a young Tommy Lee Jones?

If you're a retired military chap who needs a prosthetic eye, why not get one with an embedded Marine Corps emblem? ----------------------------- "Tragedy is when I cut my finger; comedy is when you walk into an open sewer and die." -- Mel Brooks |

We had a flyer pushed through our door today for the Molly Maid service.

From the Wikipedia entry:
"Vampire Weekend is an indie rock band from New York City. Despite the band members' occasionally preppy style, they are influenced by both African popular music and Western Classical Music. They describe their genre of music as "Upper West Side Soweto", performing such songs as "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa," which references Congolese soukous music." Have a listen over at MySpace. |

This looks Gibsonian to me, even if it is just concrete.
Light Transmitting Concrete. And it is Hungarian, to boot. Retired |
