Wanted to re-play Far Cry, but couldn't find the disk (found the case). Short of paying US$9.99 on Steam for it, which I'll probably do at some point, I ended up re-playing Half-life 2 instead. It's a damn fine game, but it's one a rail, and a big reason I felt like playing Far Cry is that it's such an open world, with so many different ways of achieving the objectives.

Far Cry indeed feels very free and unrestricting in the levels that are fully outdoors. But the moment you have to enter a buiding, it goes back to being a very linear succession of rooms. I guess that is just the nature of story based FPS's though.

Cryostasis First good ol' fashioned linear, big-studio, shoot-n-solve game I've gotten in a while. I am probably more easily wowed by nice graphics because of this but I really liked the look. The glittering ice crystals on everything, the way the ice encroaches on the screen as you get close to dying, you can almost feel the temperature as you constantly struggle to keep warm.

The storyline was alright, gameplay is pretty straight forward horror FPS, I think took me about 8 hours.

I always want to play those bullet hell shooters, but whenever I do I regret it. I just suck at them. I'm much better at top down shooters where I have room to move. I bought Ikaruga a while back and can't get past the second stage. Just abyssmal.

Been playing Ghostbusters and it's a lot of fun. Having the original cast involved makes all the difference. Definitely worth playing, although it may be a little short (or so I've read) so $60 may be a bit much. Definitely worth a rent tho.

I'm also playing the Magic the Gathering game that came out on XBLA recently. Yes, I'm that kind of nerd. It's pretty decent, although I haven't really playing online any. Trying to work through the campaign first.

Playing the original Super Mario on the Wii's virtual console.

I can't get through the first world.

I fail.

I played Tekken 6 in an arcade in Japan.

That game is awesome.
Playing on an HD gaming cabinet is very cool.
Noisy and smokey arcades are something I really miss (there were some in France when I was a kid).

A game costs 50 yen.
That's $0.5

As long as you keep winning, you don't have to pay again.

Draining the Half-life universe to the last drop. Played the game and Portal (except I got too frustrated on my third time through the ending and left it for a while), now for Ep 1, Ep 2 and Lost Coast...

I hope Asterix DOES get his hands on you, you nerd.

I suppose I should have a crack at the DLC for Mass Effect - Bring Down The Sky.

Apparently, there's still more DLC to come...

I think Mass Effect has become one of my favourite games, right up there with Planescape, Fallout, etc.

I enjoyed Mass Effect a lot.
But once it was over, I did not want more.
