Even makes me consider buying one. Most are still £100 (with a free game) here in the UK.

Got two new 360 games to try later; copies, so maybe they won't play. I shall report back.

Your post(s) in this thread always my me on edge a little Bic, which, I would hastily point out, is nothing to do with you. I have a real issue with copied games, it just doesn't sit right with me, but I can't really argue against it, as we DO get shafted on prices in the UK. Most of our games are twice the price that our USA cousins pay.

However, I'll freely download a couple of hundred pounds worth of photoshop and a few score mp3's, so I guess I'm just a hypocrite.

While I agree that the pricing seems a little excessive (I don't know the exact exchange rate from pounds sterling to dollars, so I don't know how excessive), I have to agree with Nilcypher. Game companies and gamers are in enough legal hot water these days as it is - we oughtn't make it any worse. Then again, it isn't my choice, and no matter how you get your games, my wish is that you have fun with them.

As for me, I'm a PC guy, and I've been playing Supreme Commander nonstop just about since it came out. Damn that game is fun.

Yeah. That happened to me, once.

Current exchange rate is about £1 = $2. As an example, Supreme Commander is $29.99 in the US, and £19.99, or around $40 in the UK. As another example, a DS Lite is $129.99 in the states, but in the UK it's £99.99, or nearly $200.

We're getting shafted so much

Well, considering that most of the content can be had through digital distribution (like Steam or XBox Arcade/Live), it's hardly the shipping costs that can attribute the difference between North American pricing and Europe prices.

Having lived on both continents, the Europeans are indeed, truly, getting the shaft.

Installed the first Baldur's Gate just for kicks. Not playing the quest - just running around and killing stuff and doing side quests. Like a low-res version of Oblivion.

I am totally surprised that Bioware
(or some other company) hasn't decided to do a 3D remake of the engine used for those games. First person RPG's can be a bit overrated and I LIKE the fact that I can set up ambushes with my party or scout ahead with my thief.

I love the fact that the world is a 2D painting. You can get way more detail and atmosphere this way - to prove my point, look at the environments in Neverwinter Knights. Chunky barftastic!

A 3D/2D remake or higher res. version would make my decade! A new Planescape adventure would make my millenium.

Rented Forza 2 and I'm having trouble getting into it. It just seems hard. I dunno, it may be going back.

Baldur's rules... and yeah, a blingified version would be nice, but sometimes it's nice to drop back into pixel-world too...

Wonder whether I'll ever find/make time to play a huge adventure game like that again? Bought Oblivion and haven't got that far with it, just no time. Maybe this summer. Trouble is, in summer here you wanna be at the pool or beach.

I guess this is where Scotland rules - the summers here make you want to stay indoors and play Baldur's Gate.

Unfortunately. Frown

9/10 gameplay? Come on... Maybe if you overlook the annoying camera. Don't get me wrong I actually kind of enjoyed it overall, but there were some serious flaws.

This is an optional question to all gamers. I was wondering if anyone cares to reveal their screen names in the online shooters or role playing games they frequent most?

In BF:1942, I called myself: hot-pies
In BF:V, I was: Plop
And in DoD, years ago, I was: pEEK_A_bOO!

Have you seen me? Have I seen you? Did I shoot you first?

The reason I ask is that there was a time - after I took a break from posting but before my computer kakked - when I kept noticing familiar screen names crop up on the BattleFields of EA games: Arkan, Kradlum, Boogerhead ... coincidence or serendipity? Whenever I noticed this I would attempt to make contact by calling out familiar terms: "WGB" "vat grown ninja" "Hey, hot dog!" - no avail, but I'm still wondering if any of us have passed each other like ships in the night - guns ablaze.

(and whenever I get a computer with a faster processor, I think we should make a date to blast each other to smithereens - or team up and clean up)

IN answer to The Etruscan's question I am Evilp3nguin9000 on XBox Live. I welcome new friends. I don't really play any other PC games these days. Not since I beat my Warcraft addiction.

If you see a nilcypher on BF2, BF2142 or CS:S, it's probably me, but I don't play on line nearly as much as I used to.

FWIW, the one time every couple months I get on UT2k4 these days, I'm either heavyboots or badgerbadgerbadger. Mostly my game play time is allocated 100% to Richard Burns Rally though and I've never bothered to hook the PC up to the internet...

Started Final Fantasy Tactics (PS1) from the top tonight, but didn't have the energy to go far. I wish I could get that for my DS. Have to wait for the new FFTA game I suppose... or buy a PSP when the FFT remake comes out.

I have the one for GBA, EP9k I found it to be a little more tolerable. FF tactics is one of those things that is great in theory, but maybe not as great in practice.

Hey, thanks for the feedback Evilp3nguin9000, nilcypher, and badgerbadgerbadger. I'll bring it up again when I upgrade to see if anyone's still game.
