Bill Bailey is a favourite, and it helps that he is local so we get to stalk him around Hammersmith.
I didn't know Stewart Lee was still doing stand-up until I saw a poster for his 41st Best Stand Up show at the Bloomsbury Theatre, typically on the last night of the show. He just seems to do talking head spots on terrible TV compilation programs. |

interesting, i've been wanting to catch her for a while. i'm a fan of her writing, and unsure how she would be doing stand up. though certainly at readings she comes across well. she is doing edinburgh at the moment, hoping to catch her tomorrow. |

I love Dave Attell. He used to have this series called "Insomniac With Dave Attell" where he would visit different cities at night and party and drink until morning. Plus, his stand-up routines are great, jam-packed with sex, donkey, penis and drunk jokes, which I love.
I also like Henry Rollins' Shock and Awe show. He's got great energy and he makes fun of my president so well! Plus, the bit on dating is just freaking hilarious. |

Don't know if you'd have seen it there, but he now hosts The Gong Show on comedy central. It's pretty fun. |

I love Dave Attell too, and Miss "Insomniac".

I don't get the Gong Show or Comedy Central in Belgium. Which blows majorly.
I guess I like my comedians loud and a little raunchy. Comedy Central really helped shape my humor while I was growing up. Pablo Francisco, Nick Swardson, Mitch Hedburg, Wanda Sykes, Nick DiPaolo, Margaret Cho, Dave Attell, and Lewis Black were my comedy heroes. Then came shows like the Upright Citizens Brigade, Strangers With Candy, and Insomniac which helped fine tune my comedic and storytelling skills. My uni friends and I used to have South Park and Strangers With Candy night. Wednesday on Comedy Central, at the time. We'd all watch together and have chicken breaks. One of the friend's would bring back KFC and sides and we'd all dig in while watching Comedy Central on a dorm room floor. Those were good times. |

Flatmate M was scared shitless to roadie for him at the Big Day Out a while back. Ol' Hank gets a bit riled up. Some his stuff's a bit over the top, but he's got some good points. Apparently, he got put on ASIO's watchlist last time he was here, and told that in one of his shows. At least it's better than the usual "I wanna see some kangaroos! I saw koalas! Yay!" schtick most of 'em pull. The Lithos School of Curiousity is now enrolling |

not sure how i managed to get dates mixed up, i was sure rollins was on at the weekend, but think he starts tonight, and is on till next weekend. and yeah he is pretty intense, first saw his band when he was at his angriest and the entire audience took a step back.
we did catch a.l. kennedy on saturday. scottish novelist, who has been doing stand up for a few years now. funny how its changed her since i last saw her doing a reading before she started doing this. |
