Colin, thanks for the link. I love what I saw so far. I will take more time and go through the site. You have inspired me to scribble.

Is that the wife?

No, it's a model from a magazine (and not a terribly good likeness, I'm afraid, although better than I usually do).

I've actually only done a few pictures of my wife, and nothing really good. It's one of those things I keep putting off until I get "good enough."

"That picture makes me look fat, Colin!"

@Aleph: Where did you get the photos for the drawings?

Great! I particularly like your rendering (I assume) of the one on the upper right.

Yeah, there's a kind of Giger influence to what Aleph did there.

Bought a sketchbook. Going to begin by learning to draw trees. We have such wicked looking trees here in Boulder.

We need to see the progression, so I'm putting them in one post!

Looks like symmetry's laptop is sitting on its protective sleeve for when it gets dumped in a bag...

It is indeed a horrible pink sumo sleeve (the only colour they had in the shop). Ironically, the laptop almost never gets moved, esp. since I have the eee to carry about as necessary, so it is basically a sort of ergonomic wrist rest elevator.

The desk just had a minor cleaning regression but it only a temporary setback. It will be in a fine state over the next couple of months (my study is rarely this messy but for these three months of the year). You'll note the appearance of a fifth of bourbon. The end of term is nigh, and then my exam hell is imminent.

The back of the einstein mug says "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity." -- Albert Einstein. It is a most treasured possession.

Aleph: I aspire to your minimalism. I fail.

Gotta admit, I am kind of hooked on the show. Summer was great in Firefly too.

Not looking real good for a second season, 'Leph.

Has any artist ever sculpted a laptop out of Spam?

Or made one out of Spam cans?

They should do that. That's real "modern art."
