This test sucks. I have never had this much trouble with anything remotely related to academics.

I got an 1100 on the only practice I took.

I took a verbal diagnostic and only got a 650 on that part. I don't even want to take the Quant diagnostic right now. I think I only got a 500 or so on the practice one.

Sucks to this.

I need to raise my score to over 1300. I won't be a happy dog unless I get over 1300. A few weeks ago I would have said 1400 but the way this test is set up doesn't work with the way I think of some such.

In school I used to always score in the 99% in verbal areas and reasoning subjects. i was worse in math, but still at about 85% or so. I got over 30 on the ACTs.

This should not be this hard.

I am beginning to believe the books on the gRE when they say that this test has nothing to do with the actual subjects and everything to do with ETS trying to fuck you over.

Well I just don't want to see you work yourself into a frenzy and break down over the test.

A few people have told me that really I didn't do so badly but I did not score well enough YET to get into some programs I want.

I will take it again, I'd encourage you to regard your first test as a practice test, albeit one you pay for.

Don't overemphasize its importance to your life.

Get to the test center relaxed and ready for a lot of little petty rules.

How can you be sure?

Because it is nothing more or less than a test. You will do well or not based on your real skills at test taking and your mood when you go in to it. You are your own enemy here, not the test.

Accept that you will study and do your best and know that ten years from now you will, like split, not even remember your score.

I am practicing at 730 verbal and 530 quant right now. I want to raise the quant significantly.

These data interpretation questions, how the fuck can you even tell what the approximates are? they are the ugliest, least clear graphs and such I have ever seen.

I got my scores today int he mail for the analytical writing portion. I got a 5 on a scale of 1-6 with 6 being the best. I like this score. I found the writing portion of the test enjoyable. The advice on pre-writing it was very good. The published topics are all int he same format so you can outline a response without knowing what your specific topic will be.

How long did it take you to get those scores?

I got them this morning in the mail, so I got them in the past week or so since I suck at checking my mail.

I think I took the test on the 16th?
