I just watched "The Interview", written, directed and starring Steve Buscemi. Excellent!

Answer on a postcard:

Paris, Texas

Such a great movie, Harry Dean Stanton and Natassja Kinski. Soundtrack by Ry Cooder, script by Sam Shepard, cinematography by Robby Muller.

As they're on their long road trip, they go past a wild man on an overpass, who is screaming at the world about impending disaster, and that was the one line I could make out. I can only find this reference to the screaming man on the web.

I really see this as a kind of pre-apocalyptic movie, I have to say. Had a really eerie sense about it. Saw it last over 20 years ago, would love to see it again, there were some really cosmic moments.

Oh I saw that when it first came out! Great movie.

I've seen it, a long time ago. I remember liking it, but don't remember the story at all. Wasn't there a man who didn't sleep in it? Spent all his time polishing shoes?

I love films that show a very real Britain, whether it's the original Get Carter or The Long Good Friday from before I was born, or Brassed Off or The Full Monty from the 90s . None of which are overlooked. Ratcatcher may count as overlooked, and is quite beautiful.

However, if you're not in Britain, and want to know what it was like to grow up here in the early 80s:

Excellent film, fantastically acted, breaks from the tradition of (e.g.) Romper Stomper, and if you were a teenager in the 80s, packs a serious emotional impact. Be interesting to hear whether the emotion hits home on anybody that didn't live through the Thatcher years, the Falklands, etc..

It's made me cry twice in a week, and the second time I had the Director giggling in his Commentary on the soundtrack!

I loved it, despite my growing up in France, and being a teenager in the 90s.
Some things never change.
