Back then, the only FAX machine the company owned, and probably state of the art at the time, produced output by =burning= dots on a piece of paper clipped onto a rotating steel drum.

I can see Crash's beautiful flower (just takes some time to load), but your van pic does come up as a red X.
Let me try this with your van pic

can you see that?

The url you posted up there is the photobucket page one, not the image location one.
That's how I found your pic, by clicking view image on your red x. Takes you straight to your album.

In 1972 I was working in Skokie Ill., building photo-typesetting machines. Photo copiers weren't all pervasive yet. You would put a document into the device and it would read it, then the machine would manually set lead type! Friggen thing was almost as big as a car. Talk about dead-end technology.

Yeah, that's a campsite in the Hoh river valley on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington.

You'll never find it.

No, it's on a public trust that the BLM maintains. Friend of mine does the maintenence and loaned em the keys to a certain gated road...

Oh there,
Well I know that guy too. I was there drinking coffee this morning as a matter of fact. Then I flew back to Toronto on a "jet airplane".

Sounds awesome... One of the things that still ranks high on my "cool moments" list was camping out on the beach near Mosquito Creek.

Indeed. The hike up there isn't the easiest one, but it was so rewarding to get there and then just jump into the water (when i was there it was an extremely hot day).

Maybe i should scan some pictures of that trip, this is afteral the proper thread for it.
