Öland in Sweden.

And yes, it is lovely to go hiking there.

I would also recogmend you go there two weeks before or after the school holidays. It is plastered with holiday houses and will be overrun during that time. And those little ponds between the rocks are pure mosquito breeding grounds.

That is a really beautiful star photo. I'm amazed at how dark the skies are there!

Thanks Striv, It really sort of sums up August in Copenhagen.

Much better weather today. Sunny, no wind - great weather for a 2km swim around the Danish parliamnet.

Thank you!
How clean are those canals? I grew up near the Erie Canal, and swimming in there was not a form of healthy exercise.

Clean enough that they let 600 people swim a race in them and will be holding the World Championships in 10KM open water next year.

No yuck factor while swimming in them - they really are clean. They've actually opened a number of open air bathing places in the harbors of Copenhagen. They've done a nice job of cleaning things up so people can use them.

You should always try to shoot for the stars...

Even if you miss, it's worth the effort.
