I'll have you know that that I did not surf a bic this time. I was too tired of carrying that brick around.
I need to get my own wetsuit again. And my own board. But it's useless as I live in London and have no car. LAMENT LAMENT. Probably no surf until april now. *sob* |

No worries, the lighter boards do inspire confidence. April will come round soon enough and you won't have to shell out £200+ and endure the restrictions that come with a 5/3 wettie at this time of year.
Went in on Sunday arvo for 2hrs. Was still quite warm, even when flushed in the white water. Caught a few sweet 3ft faces before running out of steam. The cold/windchill depletes energy levels - good to be aware of that. |

I learned to surf in a cold water place: 4/3s year round, thanks to upwelling. Norcal is a shit place to learn to surf. I'm going to get another 4/3 because even in summer this skinny chick freezes in the 'warmer' european waters. I took my booties with me and praise god for that otherwise it would have been numb feet all weekend.
The board I used was just like my old mini-mal, minus three inches. Next time I get a board of my own it's going to be proper long. I'm contemplating dropping out of my life and going to Santa Barbara for the summer to scope out the life there. I'm not doing SF again. |
