...Iiiiiiiiiiimmanuel Kant
Was a real pissant
Who was very rarely stable,
Heidegger, Heidegger
Was a boozy beggar,
Who could think you under the table
David Hume could out consume
Schopenhauer and Hegel,
And Wittgenstein,
Was a beery swine,
Who was just as schloshed as Schlegel

There's nothing Nietzsche
Couldn't teach ya,
'Bout the raising of the wrist,
Socrates himself was permanently pissed.

John Stuart Mill
Of his own free will,
On half a pint of shandy particularly ill,
Plato they say,
Could stick it away,
Half a crate of whiskey every day,
Aristotle, Aristotle,
Was a bugger for the bottle,
Hobbes was fond of his dram,
And René Descartes,
Was a drunken fart,
"I drink, therefore I am."

Yeeeeeeees, Socrates himself,
Is particularly missed,
A lovely little thinker,
But a bugger when's his pissed.

A month ago, on a sunny afternoon, I walked up a loading ramp into the back of an unmarked white cube van parked just off the old main drag. There were three enthusiastic-looking college girls in it. They had a bunch of odd, over-large posters, some funny props, and a digital camera on a tripod.

"What. IN HELL. Is this?"

"It's our Masters photo project. Would you like to be in it?"

"I serve the cause of photography."

"Eh?"

"Yes."

"Great! Pick a backdrop!"

"Oh, Nove Scrotia, of course."

"Care to choose a prop?"

"I, umm, have one."

This evening, I received an e-mail...

Thank you for participating in the Wish You Were Here project held on April 8 and 9, a part of the MFA exhibition, Bourget: White Cube on the Move at Concordia University. We had an overwhelming number of participants and have been faced with organizing and e-mailing over 300 images. Thank you for being so patient with us!

We hope to start looking into the possibility of exhibiting the images shortly, and we will of course let you know if there is any news of an exhibition... If you have any questions, please feel free to ask, we hope you like your image and we would love to hear your feedback, if you've got any.

Here's hoping you get to travel to Hong Kong, Newfoundland, Wyoming or Nova Scotia sometime again soon.

Safe travelling,

XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX
