In a similar vein to F'n'B's above post, I won this Dell D600 off ebay. For only $600!

I'll be truly mobile tomorrow, when I grab a mini-PCI wireless card. For now, am posting via the wonderments of good ol' CAT5.
But, in regards to networking: I've got my whole house on a network, to share the broadband. However, I want to make it so that I can access everything on my laptop from my desktop, and vice-versa, without the rest of my household being able to do so. How would I go about this? Am on Windows XP, for both computers. The Lithos School of Curiousity is now enrolling |

Is XP Home or XP Professional?
With XP Professional you can assign users to shared folders, with XP Home you can only share folders without setting any security (as far as i know anyway). |

I've started having problems with Firefox playing nice with youtube and was wondering if anyone else sees similar behaviour. Used to play vids off youtube no problem. Then I recently joined youtube and for a day or so things worked well (may be just coincidence, the joining part...) Now when I click on youtube links, either from posts, emails, or at youtube itself, I get a page full of source code. Works fine in IE

Okay: I need to change 8 image documents into a single PDF File, besides scanning them, is there any way to do this? If I do have to scan them is it difficult?

If you have the full Acrobat program (not just the reader) and Photoshop, you can normally right click (or ctrl click on mac) an image and select edit. That'll send you to photoshop and you can tweak the image there. Save it ét voilà : the image in your PDF file is changed.
edit: oops, i misread the question... i thought you had images inside a PDF file and you needed to change those. |

nevermind my previous post.
To do what you need, open Acrobat and go to File -> Create PDF -> From Multiple files... Click the browse button to select the files you want, move the files arround in the order you want them and then simply hit OK. |

You're using Windows, right? On Mac you would put the image files into a single document and use the printer dialog to turn that into a .pdf. I have no idea if you can do the same in Windows.

You could go to Versiontracker and look for a program that helps you. I had a look and jpg2pdf looks about right. Or you wait for somebody with more Windows experience to help you further.
