Arepas de queso, filled with tequila-limed shrimp and crackled pork skin, cilantro, and tomatoes. Tall glasses of watermelon juice with a wink of rum and splash of sparkle.

You won the debate in my book.

Well, tonight, I thought I'd finally have to administer the Heimlich Maneuver. And it wouldn't have been the first time. My wife tends to starve herself during the day, so things can get a little Wild Kingdom around dinner time.

[Our cat],in the commotion, rather than inspect the refused morsels which had fallen to the floor, had jumped on the table and raided my plate instead. Tiny hole in my arepa.

I finally found a place in the States that sells them. I have not had one in a very long time. They used to be my fave. Frankly, I was disappointed. In my memory, they were more minty, and the chocolate was richer.

Sunday... lunch time. My wife is preparing "feijoada completa". I guess that at Sunday night I'll be like a "jibóia" (do you call it anaconda???) that have just gulped a calf...

I just had a PB&J sandwich. it was semi-rewarding. maybe becuase I only had half a sandwich as I only had one piece of bread left.

I have been addicted to Haribo Gold Bears for the last week or so. I think I may just go ahead and explore the whole Haribo gummy library.

I just had a magnificent bacon-cheese burger.

Ms. Shake made Saur Brauten, Rotkohl, and Kartoffeltoffeltoffeltoffel (Kartoffelpuffer). Not bad for a sansei.
