salad wrap thingies with beef and cheese - what the department provides when it calls an urgent meeting to consider our academic plan. methinks we'd get a more robust academic plan with more robust food

that sounds-sounds delicious and well-thought oot. i googled "mei-mei" to check it oot. didn't find the food-food, but found-found a Mei-mei Berssenbrugge, a Chinese-American poet. from samples i find i quite like her, or at least shall dig-dig deeper. so thank you for that.

Bacon. Eggs. And Kellogg's Corn Pops.

I hope they have good bacon in Seoul. I might cry if they don't. Just a week and a half before I leave.....

Here ya go, bebes, listed under 'instant noodles bowl type'. Maybe if you e-mail them, they can give you a local supplier's name. My fave is the 'Tom Yum' flavour, but the only other one I've tried is the 'Braised Chicken', which was very garlicky, as I recall.

The new gal in the office here brings 'em in from Chinatown, I don't even know where to go to buy them. She spoils everybody rotten. She made me eat chasu bao this morning. I was trying to slip away, but she insisted. Gawd bless her. 8^)

It was free and no one was watching, so I took a big box packed full of them and ate Raisin Bran Crunch until I was so sick of it I couldn't even look at it.

I took the rest of the mini-boxes home and gave them to my mom, who in turn, ate Raisin Bran Crunch.

Would I eat it now? Hells no. Scarred me for life. Much like the Honey Nut Cheerios incident did when I decided in Middle School that I would eat the whole box in one day. It took me a few years to get over that overdose.

I am eating Marshmallow Peeps. You know, those sugar-coated marshmallows made to look like baby chicks. I mentioned balut in the What Happened to You Today thread, about how disgustingit is to eat a half-formed duck in an egg. I am surprised that just the sight of Marshmallow Peeps doesn't gross me out. I like marshmallows a lot, especially when they're a little stale and chewy.

Late night snack again. Man I haven't eaten all day, went to practice, went out afterwards and now back home and I'm famished. I think I deserve this nomatter how greasy.
So. Gyro everything, hold the ketchup, add russian sauce.
Now when I say russian sauce it's got nothing to do with what you know as the dressing. It's basically mayo mixed with vegetables.
Besides that the gyro would have the beef, red onions, french fries, tomato, mustard, salt and pepper. All that wrapped up in a very greasy pita bread.
Distgusting I know. Yet I really crave those things at least once a month.

Now *that* is what a real greek gyro looks like.

I can't even imagine how one could physically eat one of those (at least, with one's hands). Forks would have to be involved for sure.

On the contrary, that's eaten traditionally by hands only. Where do you think we are? the civilized west? Razz

Admittedly, that one is not as tightly wrapped in that wax paper as it should.

My brother treated me to some nice Italian restaurant... Man, for starters we had some really nice toast pieces of bread with fresh tomato crushed mixed with lots of garlic. It was devine.
And the salad was something called 'Verde di Pastore'. Spinach with mixed greens, cucumbers, sun dried tomatoes, olive paste and a nice big round piece of manouri cheese on top. Balsamic vinegar and olive oil. That salad was amazing.

I had the carbonara with prosciuto over tagliatele but I barely managed to finish half of it. Dude I ate too much of those starters and salad, I stuffed myself.
Problem is I got a glass of wine with it and although I barely drunk more than half way through it still managed to bother me. My system really can't handle alcohol...
