As a side note, the Neil Perry-designed inflight's aren't that bad. But I'm a sucker for airline food - not the tastes, necessarily, but the way everything comes packed down in cute, neat little containers - the economy of space, the single serve pats of butter (thanks, Palahniuk) and, most of all, the novelty.

I know it's the wrong thread but I'm now drinking Camille tea with honey because I have a sore throat.

There are rumblings of discontent here in Melbourne Town. For the first time in living memory, the Flower Drum isn't on the list.

Do Dean & Deluca still do custom inflights?

You know, will they let you add your own...main course to it?

My friend wants to know.

All I ate today was two sandwiches. Bought them actually both for lunch but I couldn't eat much and so had the second one for dinner.
Burger sandwiches in a pocket with a spicy red sauce and cucumbers!

Other than that I been drinking OJ constantly. It's done a good job.

pine and swine, always a crowd pleaser. Just getting ready to tuck into some alder smoked salmon, asperagus, and devilled eggs. You don't want to be at our house later in the evening.

poach

verb 1: hunt illegally.
2: cook in a simmering liquid.

My mistake, guess it was the OZ thing. Next time
I won't jump to conclusions.

I mean the second one.

Now, a deliciously spicy lamb korma curry from the Indian restaurant 'round the corner. It, too, is bewdiful - there's heat, but still underpinned by the cream and herbs.

Awwww, man, that spicy warmth is kickin' in. Slowly. But surely.

It's great! I'm beginning to see through time!

(A note the British: You owned such a wonderful subcontinental country of flavours for centuries and your food is still plain? Didn't you take a notebook or something with you to get some recipes?)

Izzat a dig at moi, Gromit? Wink

Yes, I poach a damn fine egg. The trick is to coddle the egg for thirty seconds or so before you crack it, swirl the barely simmering water (which has a bit of vinegar in it) pour the egg slowly from a jug or teacup into the vortex, turn up the heat a little, so that the bubbles that form on the bottom of the pan gently lift the egg up and prevent it from sticking.
