If your left leg is broken, it turns out you can use a crutch to pop the clutch pedal as you shift. If it's your right, maybe put one on the brake, one on the gas, and push as required?

People are small, callow and afraid to die. This often causes them to grab from life what they think will be better in order to assuage the overwhelming suspicion that, yes, this is really as good as life gets.

It's finally started raining in town...it's been warm enough to be that v heavy wet snow for most of the afternoon...if it doesn't stay warm it's going to be really ugly in the morning.

Yesterday, we were hit with a lot of snow and a
little bit of rain. A friend came over and we
ordered a pizza, but they wouldn't deliver it, so
we had to pick it up. Still, it was a fun time.

Today, I shoveled snow and ice.

Witness, Thal, I hope it turns out for the best, whatever that ends up being.

Today I finally acknowledged that the hearing in my left ear has suddenly degraded even more. After two days of strangeness I did some amateur testing to confirm suspicions. While I've been casually saying for quite some time now that I'm "nearly deaf" in my left ear, it appears as though I really am almost entirely deaf in the left ear now. There is still a tiny, distorted, squawky whisper of hearing left there, but not very much at all. Off to the doctor again, I suppose. So he can tell me there's nothing to do about it, then charge me a few hundred bucks. I keep cycling between not giving a fuck and being very unnerved about it. I'd hoped it would get better someday, rather than worse. Doesn't look like that's on the program.

When do we get our fucking cyberears?

Yeah, that cyberear thing made me grin too. I am reminded of my son impersonating Strong Sad in one of his visits to the Eye Surgeon last year, He had enlisted my aid in making a Borg like eye patch with a little laser light imbeded inside.
He said in a falseto "I think I improved on your methods some." and switched his little Borg Laser on "Click".
The doc gave a startled jump exclaiming Eww!
We were a little disapointed in the Doctor until he siad "Wow that's really cool, can I see it?".

So, um Split, I think a Bionic ear would be harder to make look cool but If you want something silly to wear into the Doctors office, we stand ready to serve.
On a more serious note though, I hope you get it looked into, Data is good, lack of data is bad. Beside the realy crap fact of hearing loss in its own right, will this effect your ability to do what you do at work? I Wish you the best with this Splitcoil.

They're stuck with my cyber-eye shipment, dammit! Seriously though, hope the doctor has some good news!

So, today I went to my grandmother's 80th birthday party, then helped with some computer stuff at the folks' house, then back home for a quick run since it was finally sunny for the first time since last Wednesday. Lotta rain here this week (well, by desert standards).

Took me 2 hours to get to work thanks to a lane closed on a crappy road.. and princess has turned heating up full blast so its like a sauna in my office.

But I just made the perfect cup of coffee.. one of those times you get just the right amount of coffee in, and leave it to brew for just the right amount of time. Wonderful!!

Saturday morning I had an interview for the install-servers-all-over-the-world job.
It went rather well.
I struggled a lot with the technical questions, but the guy sounded like he appreciated my efforts, and my ability to google and talk simultaneously (and my honesty about it too).
My friend who works there says the boss is okay to hire me.

One last interview to figure out the money aspect, and I'll be in...

We're at least talking now, without it degenerating into screaming fits. We both want it to work between us, but we need to find some kind of arrangement that will work for both of us.

I hope that we can reconcile. If nothing else the sex is always better after a good fight.

Yes, that's good news.
But I won't rejoice before anything is signed...
