First day back to work. Was in Texas since last Tuesday, for a family thing. Man, those Texans love being from Texas.

But it gives you a great excuse for ignoring the mrs whenever you want to!

I went to look at a new apartment today, but didn't really get to look inside too much thanks to the current owners enormous dog. Really I think he was scared to death of me and the rental guy but we didn't want to fuck with him too much. Here is a pic of the outside of the building.

My unit in upstairs, in the back. One bedroom but with a large kitchen, wood floors, central air. I would have to check it again sans dog since the current resident felt the need to leave a fan running in December I wonder how good the ac really is.

I took the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, level 2, yesterday, and I was all ready to gnash my teeth and pull my hair over how badly I did here, but I couldn't log on. So that's good news for the lot of you.

Today I had kaiseki-ryori for the first time finally, which was delicious and thank God I don't know how much it cost, or I would feel awful about it. I also don't know what some of the stuff I ate was, but it was all amazing. There were, let me see, either eight or nine courses (I feel like I'm forgetting one) of teeny-tiny, beautiful, weird Japanese food. Definitely something to try if you're in Japan and you have the scratch.

If you get the ear I want the leg-

Witness & Thal- You two are to handling this with more better than I would- At least in the beginning- I handle betrayal very with the more malicious inner working of my brain-

Keeping fingers crossed for Arkan-

Edit- The outside is wonderful- When I look for apartments, I am always, looking for something to stare at from inside- I'm not much of an outside person-

I drove the route for two days- My Aunt did the delievery part for saturday- On sunday, a friends daughter helped me and my aunt so we wouldn't be done horribly late- I woke up sunday evening and noticed my toes where turning purple- I wiggled them for bit and figured they where not supposed to be that color-
I got a notice out to everyone on my route about my leg and that I would be absent-
I've gotten a lot of calls of sympathy, but more calls every time the paper doesn't show up-

I was supposed to drive monday also, but after looking at my toes I figured that wasn't the best idea-
I kinda hope they will be patient with this, and hold my x-mas tips- I worked all year for those tips- But, if I don't got to figure oh well-

I don't mind the digging. That was a fun couple of
hours. The ice was a bit much, though.

I've heard that the jump from level 3 to level 2
is difficult, but hopefully you didn't do as bad
as you think.

They had to pretty much chain me in the basment for aboot six week, I swear I just about chewed my leg of to get out more... But it passed. So all the best to you in your recovery. (above your heart now, no screwing around with that)

Yep, that's how ya keep them toesies unpurpled. We don't normally think about it, but our hearts can't pump the blood from our feet all the way back to our lungs. That gets done (or helped) by little valves in the leg veins combined with leg muscle movements. In an immobilised leg in a cast, you have to let gravity do that work by getting the leg above your heart.

I went to the Mac store to get a case for my new iPod, which I 've already managed to scratch up a fair bit. They didn't have any cases for this model at all, but they did have the other item I wanted: a four-connection USB PCI card, which I installed in two minutes flat, and into which I have plugged the 320 GB external hard drive that was ferociously cheap, really. So I've copied my photos and music to the external drive, and wonder how to make sure my programs will access them there, rather than looking in the usual spot. Tweaking this will probably take me rather longer than installing 4 USB 2.0 connections Razz

You are too kind Smile I finally went to the help file after bollocksing it up Razz

I was correct, though, it's definitely taken me longer than installing the USBs. Oh look, it's midnight again...I have to get to bed earlier than this. Sigh.

Buenas noches.

today i decided none of this was real. this is all an illusion. its the only thing that can account for being so tired and still sitting in an office, listening to the rain bounce off the roof. all that, and tea isn't helping.

From experience, iTunes is not hugely happy about external drives which aren't set up to work as an iTunes server (which my next one will be). Fairly regularly iTunes loses the library, and I have to re-add the whole folder (files - add folder to library) - which is pretty painful with nearly 6000 tracks!! But changing where iTunes looks is pretty painless - its in options somewhere (not got iTunes in front of me).
If you add music from more than one computer (our external drive is networked so both me and Krad can access it), you will need to re-add the folder to the library, which is also a pain!

My sodding car still isn't ready. But as my car tax has now run out I still have to drive all the way to the sodding garage and drop that off else I get the fine.

And I have to drive to my cousins funeral tomorrow, 2 hours from home, in the loan car.. I want my nice automatic back.

Plus, its costing em a small fortune in petrol.. they're driving around 30 miles a day testing it, and I'm driving 50 miles a day to / from work.. double petrol usage. Grrrr
