Almost got to watch a jaywalker get weeded out of the gene pool on my drive back from picking up lunch today. I was in the left lane, an older model BMW M3 in the right, two SUVs blocking us for the last mile. My SUV pulls off and the M3 spools up his turbo to bolt the gap between me and his SUV at about 55 (on a 35mph road mind you). Meanwhile, a jaywalker starts running to the middle in front of the action, but the M3 can't see him at all because he's in the act of pulling around the SUV.

So he pops out into the clear lane with a huge head of steam and a human dead center in front of him 20ft ahead. He slammed the brakes, the jaywalker jumped like a startled rabbit cleared him by about an inch as he went by under heavy braking, with me way back from the action praying I wouldn't have to dodge body parts.

Wheee.

Digging that Trogdor van.

Finished the rendering and uploading process for The WGB Neuromancers intro bit, and made a video of playing Lacuna Coil's "Closer" using three sets of barbecue tongs to hold the buttons.

A good day, great frames.

Had a checkup and all appears ok. Yeeah!

Bought Walter Becker's latest cd, 'Circus Money.'
At first listening it all points to how much better he is with Fagen.

I will give him many more listens. He is so much more simplistic than a Fagen entanglement. And, rather muted. Though I am enjoying the better production sounds I can hear now out of the car.
Lyrically [read only] I am disappointed. Still, with multiple listening, this could change with how I finally hear him sing them.
I do like the horns! And some harmony lines.

Glad you're healthy. I am, but this is the time of year here when everybody has allergies. Bumper crop of rabbitweed out there having plant-sex. Pollen so thick the air is yellow in the afternoon. Well yellow and gray (from the California fires). And each little air partuculate just stays all fluffed up and floating, too. Relative humidity in the afternoon: 14%

There's more atmospheric water on the friggen moon.

Whoa. CA smoke to Wyoming? Fine particles of ash here in town.
Question: Would it be just too unmacho to wear a face mask with a dong gourd?

Yes. One cannot see the Western horizon and the mountains to the South (Wasatch) are barely visible.

I suppose one might build an extension and integrate a particulate mask into the dong gourd itself, as part of the neck strap needed to keep the larger models aloft.

Oh yes, how is that Minx tour?

Got a request for payed After Effects tutoring twice a week after showing that recent video around, so I'm looking forward to that.

Also, earlier today, I had a Guitar Hero Barbecue.

Today I got asked to draw a picture of a dong gourd with neck strap and integrated particulate mask.

Luckily, there was an old safety pamphlet lying around, so I could just scan a copy.

Tour is le fun!

I have a bunch of (crappy) pictures to take off my phone an put on teh webs, but I keep doing other things like eating and talking to my boy when I should clearly be blogging and whatnot.

I've walked more in the past 10 days than in the previous 10 months, I think...yesterday was the really cool Babylon exhibit (Hasa posted a link in the tour thread) and today we're going to a photography thing I think.

I have to buy a hat, my hair is impossible as it keeps getting rained on LOL fun times! At Radiohead it POURED with rain, flooded my contacts even, but I guess I'm hardcore. Hope the DA show tomorrow won't have similar weather though Razz

May I use this on donggourd.com?

Since I own that now, and can't think of anything else to do with it, I'm thinking of soliciting designers and artists to create dong gourds as stylized sculpture... that is, not intended to be worn but as display units... probably wall mounted, sans any human representation.

As the general form, I'm thinking straight cones with single straps, ranging in size from 6 inches to 12 ft.

It's just a platform to be decorated, like a flat canvas, only conical, and called a dong gourd.

I'm picturing a 4 ft. example, gloss black background with Disney characters on that. Those Disney characters now in the public domain, of course.

Other artists may wish to go completely abstract and use beads and textiles, LED or neon lighting, engraving, metalwork, whatever. That's fine. I just want to keep the base form simple. A straight cone with a length to diameter ratio of 8:1 or so.

If I can get a couple of name designers to create one or two, it's the sort of crap galleries would kill each other to exhibit.

Especially in New York City.

It's a concept not dissimilar from Fabergé eggs, wherein the only thin egg-like is the shape. With my dong gourd exhibits, there wouldn't be any human representation just as Fabergé eggs lack any chicken or omlet representation.

It's just a fixed shape.

The strap would be another thing defined only by ratio, say 2.5 diameters. It could be painted on the wall, be rope, be leather strap or metal chain or neon tube. It would simply have to be 2.5 diameters in length and be touching the base of the cone in two places.
