Been on the baby sitting duties at my brothers for the weekend, and missing Krad. Its been a tough weekend.. the 16 year old emo niece is dead easy to look after (she's recently got an ASUS EEE, so is permanently attached to it!), but my soon to be 15 year old nephew is very low functioning autistic, and its been a very difficult weekend with him. He has a huge obsession currently with women with big bellies, and being 7 months pregnant hasn't been a good time to be around him.. I've found it incredibly stressful, coupled with little sleep as I'm sleeping on THE most uncomfortable sofa bed in the world.

Planning to escape home at lunchtime though!

MrsK-- I know the joy when a baby-sitter weekend draws to a close! Enjoy (except just remembered: permanent baby-sitting does rather loom -- but hey! in your own bed :-))

Minxilla! Together at last! And happy happy birthday to theminx.

Me, I am working today.

Oh yah, it's 4am Sunday so technically I too can wish Minx a happy birfday as well!

Saturday I did nothing. Finished rereading Swanwick's The Dog Said Bow-Wow. That man can write a really mean short story!

Also went for a mountain bike ride, which went moderately well. Very pleasant except the rattlesnake, the tarantula and the slow leak that conspired to make me finish 30 minutes after sunset yet again. Is it a bad sign when about 6 people pass you going the other way with huge lights blazing because they are starting their night ride? They all seemed rather shocked to find me still on the trail with no light, lol. But I lived to tell about it and the scenery and exercise were pleasant.

Last but not least, emailed the creators of PixelJunk Monsters, only to get a reply from the company owner himself. (Mind you, to politely tell me to suck it up and deal, but still impressive that he actually answers email sometimes.)

Finally put down the Sony/Monsters crack pipe. Going to bed now!

Twenty minutes late.

She wonders why I was mad.

"Well if you had something to do you should have told me!" is what she says. What could I possibly have to do at 9pm on Saturday night other than meet my ex for a driving lesson?

It's another beautiful (if smoking hot) day in Vancouver, we're going to have a cup of tea/coffee, go for brunch, and do some shopping. Then ze fancy birthday dinner ^_^

Had a relatively easy journey home from my brothers.. traffic was nice and light for once.

They called earlier, sounds like they had a fantastic time away. I lied and said everything had been fine, though I ended up leaving at midday and visited other brother as things were getting increasingly difficult with my nephew *sighs*

happy birthday minx!!!

today i have... cleaned the house i've been staying at (completely, vacuumed and all that), watered all their plants, and then moved myself back into my room in my parents' house.
nice to be back Smile
also looked into the ways and means of getting my passport replaced. because it is gone and obviously i need a freakin passport. O.O
doesn't look too difficult, just one extra form in addition to the normal application.
and now i'm going to have a nap...

Went to a job interview that I think went really well. Hoping to be called in for a job interview at a place where I used to work later this week.

Just as I was about to leave for my interview, they called from my son's daycare telling me that he hasn't stopped crying since I dropped him off and if I couldn't come get him. Just the sort of thing you want to hear before an interview. I told them that it would have to wait, and his dad couldn't pick him up either as he was the host of a day long conference.

Luckily he's sleeping right now, and his daycare will call me when he wakes up and I'll go pick him up.

Oh! Poor lil feller.

He's just reacting sanely, you know. Daycare sucks.

I am just keeping track of this bitch named Fay right now.

Currently 2am Wednesday shows Fay up my ass.

Of course hurricane track prediction is about as accurate as throwing chicken bones to tell your fortune so it also may wind up being Aitapata's problem over on the other coast.

Fucking Cat 1 bullshit storm anyway.

Well over here they call it "vuggestuen"...

I think in general the quality of Danish daycare far exceeds your average daycare in the US.

Now he's home with Mom playing with his toy cars and a tiny pine cone which we call "baby pinecone".

A flaky woman drove 20 miles to decide that a used child's car seat actually looked like it was (OMG!) used!

If she had seen what it looked like before I washed it (vomit encrusted) she would have appreciated just how good it looks now.

Oh well, hopefully somebody else will buy it.

That's beautiful.

I was gonna say something about pine cones being a major choking hazard, but then the Danes invented Lego, so I'm guessing they've evolved particulary wide airways.
