Thanks, MrsK.

As for feminism, take it or leave it, but me, I'm really happy I'm allowed to vote, own property, and work outside the home for fair wages (without fear of getting fired if I decide to start a family). Thanks, Feminism!

Now, we do not have too many women here, but, coming out of the blue, my first impression was: "Who has offended her in the forum, that she replies so?"

Because we have internet's lack of context, so it inmediately becomes referenced to the only context we share, that is, the board.

We have quite different opinions on many things, specially on the little area of our lives we share, the internet, so we are bound to clash. But I just want you to see why I could see that as offensive. Not directly, as you know I am a man, but for the women I know in the board, and all those who we do not know but also read the board, as I think it is unlikely any of those women you mistrust read the WGB.

And now I go, that I am late for a meeting in a bridge...

Sorry, should have clarified it as "modern feminism".. Since the 70's. I am hugely and enormously grateful to the women of my grandmothers, and greatmothers, and previous generations, that allow me the freedoms I have today. I am also hugely grateful to have been born in the period of history I have been.

I don't entirely agree with the tactics of "modern" feminism but I know directly from experience the difference a decade has made to physical sciences. The game just isn't over yet. And in this context, I have to be a feminist.

While we're being in touch with our feelings, I used to find women catty, etc. but then I think I have since found that I was projecting my insecurities onto them. I now find that I have an easy rapport with woman and men about equally, and MOST ESPECIALLY (intentional all caps) with my fellow women physicist classmates because we are all in the same context where we have to be feminists (survivor mentality).

We were, in fact, discussing this in the pub last night. And I guess what I am saying is, me and my mates when we're down the pub bitching about school and our sadistic professors who make us feel like stupid bints? I hope the next generation thanks us, too.

I did electrical engineering.. when I started y apprenticeship in 1991 I was the only female on the course (out of 25), with just one tutor being female. I was their equal, and was always treated as such, but I was also different, and I had to accept that difference.. the same when I started work in virtually all male environments.. I found I got on much better, and was actually treated equally, when I didn't try to be, well, a man!

I guess, what I mean, is I like being treated as a "lady". I like to have a door held open for me with out a man being worried about whether they will offend me.. That kind of thing.. If that makes any sense?? Alot of the men I worked with were scared of treating me differently (offering to carry something heavy etc) because f the "feminist movement".. And for that, I'm not thankful.

Yeah, that makes sense to me. I do think it rather rude when a bloke just barges through a door right in front of me.

There is a severe low pressure system that has been moving through my area for the past 4 hours. I feel *so* patheticly normal now that my telepathic powers have been limited to a maximum range of 7 cm.
The weather is teh suck and it is my own fault that I am now weaker than every other human being in existence. I'm sooo FUCKIN' PISSED I'm gonna tank the DOW/NASDEQ come Monday just for the lulz...

My tip for wigbers, short Halliburton in pre-hours trading.

A lovely Muji hold all, washbag, two small bottles (for shampoo and shower gel), 3 mesh bags for seperating stuff out for ease of finding, discounted muji flopflops for the shower, some lemon scented freshening wipes.. Think thats it.

Went to a pre-owned CD shop that was recommended by a friend.

The shop is actually close to the office, and near two Universities. Its a large space wedged in-between a Comicbook shop and an autobody repair shop.

The had a lot of nice product. The CDs were oddly filed in trays, but not spine up. To look through the selections, you had leaf through the albums, causing the plastic cases to bang together. This resulted in a clack-cophony as the place filled-up with people browsing the catalog. Clack, clack, clack. Clack, clack, clack, clack. The fumes from the bodyshop's paint box also seemed to leak into the building. After awhile this was all quiet maddening.

I bought eight albums.

I ended-up talking to the owner for awhile, inquiring about some specific pieces, and bringing stuff in. He's an old stoner that looks vaguely like Alec Guinness. He and his Korean wife have been running the place since vinyl.

He lamented the business had changed so quickly in the last couple of years. "People buy new albums, take them home, and turn them around as fast as they can to get their money back out. Nobody has a collection any more. I can't get anything for a just released album any longer."

Welcome to the digital age, I thought.

Had a long drawn out experience with the ex yesterday and wound up feeling like a complete dick for it.

I had to go by her job to drop off my badge since I have now resigned from the bank officially. She said she had something for me and I should stop and see her. I told her I couldn't really accept anything as my current girlfrined was tired of putting up with the ex calling, texting, and giving me things and expecting me to run errands for her.

Low and behold she then asked me to stop at the store and bring her something. Keep in mind she is asking me to stop, leave my girl in the car, get something personal and bring it to her.

I told her no way in hell and that was over. I did go by and see her at work, which turned out to be a mistake. She began to cry and caused a scene in the middle of her job. I had to leave with her yelling after me the whole way.

When I told my girlfriend what happened she basically said, "...guys are such suckers, I have a vagina too and I know tears are the last resort when you aren't getting your way."

I don't know if I did the right thing but I sure feel like crap about it either way.

Wow, so much is going on.

Good luck to the Krads!

Deep breaths for Editengine.

Here, I am working almost all waking hours on a dance project. No, I don't dance. It's crazy. But wonderful.

Damn I just realized I haven't checked my mail in a week.

My ultimate goal is to get to where I don't even get anything through the mail and cancel the service altogether.

Yeah I don't think that will happen either.

Get ready to have a Muji baby. Simple and efficient design, elegant but a bit expensive. And you have to remove the sticker holding the barcode before using it.
