i'll be thinking of you this week MrsK! best of luck and all sorts of good mojo your way.

given up on the cyberpunk story. i know, i know. but i stopped when work was over yesterday and i can't get back into the right headspace. plus i don't really have any real reason for writing it. Razz and i was going to have to write dialogue, which i hate.
i think i'll stick with poetry. Smile

quiet saturday... two sisters are off at the lake and the house always feels quiet when we're missing people. yeah, there's nine people left but its still weird-feeling. funny.

helped around the house a bit, vacuumed the stairs for my mom. took a trip into Cow Town* with dad, replenished makeup supplies and bought new lipstick (oooh yeah).

now i'm going to start ripping my CDs onto my laptop...

*Cow Town = the big-ish town just west of my little town, which is known as Corn Town Smile

Listening to Tom Petty's Highway Companion, which I have had for awhile but never took the time to actually scan.

Pretty good so far.

Going to be a musical night I think.

I am walking a few blocks over to check out Skull and bone band at a local bar. Later I am pushing across the bay to see Tampa Wicked who I keep hearing really good things about.

Cool GR, I just raided the last of my 401k money and have had to take loans to complete my school.

Yes I could have been one of those valiant kids that works two jobs and still graduates with a 4.0 GPA.

But lets be realistic here, this is me and there is no way I have that kind of energy.

That's great hun, glad to hear the school funding is in the can.

I was just watching the Biden deal. I think homeland security has finally got a fix on exactly how many homes McCain has.

Good luck, Mrs K!

I just realized that I had been too stinkin' busy to check in with the WGB for *weeeks*, and was wondering if the Kradlet had already made his/her appearance and logged in.

I am still considering my stress levels to be unreasonable, and living surrounded by cardboard boxes with little hope of having free time to finish unpacking is not helpful.

On the plus side, my new work cube is much bigger and less dilapidated than the old cube. I'm working with the same people, however. I am not yet sure if this is a plus or a minus.

In other news, I have unpacked enough to have a choice of footwear. Yay!

My wife is working tonight, so Servo and I had a
bachelor's night. Basically, it started with a
long bike ride (for me, not Servo), followed by
veggie quesadillas, salad and booze (again, for
me, not Servo). Servo wanted to watch some porn,
but fixed male cats have some weird kinks, so we
watched Yojimbo instead.

Oh.. no no.. We still have weeks before Kradlet should be putting in an appearance (somewhere between 5 and 9 weeks ideally).. I just got a lecture from midwife on fiday that tehre are certain things that should be ready for him by now, and one of those was having clothes washed and ready and a bag packed ready for hospital! *lol*

So save the mojo.. or rather, send mojo that he arrives in 8 1/2 weeks which would be perfect timing for us *l*

I've never really gotten the whole pack the bag thing for giving birth. I just tossed a couple of toiletries and a change of clothes into a bag (or rather instructed my husband to do so) after my water broke. Then I sent him down to the corner store to buy snacks for himself (which were necessary for 36 hours of labor) and we took a taxi to the hospital.

Packing for the c-section wasn't much different than packing for a weekend wigber meet. Just toss the stuff in the bag and go.

If I instructed Krad to do it as I went into labour, I would probably end up with some random underwear and and one change of clothes for the baby! Remember too, this is the NHS, so I really do have to take everything, even down to nappies for the baby.. (And as I a trying to avoid filling a landfil with nappies that will take a thousand years to biodegrade, it was important to make sure I have some nice eco friendly ones in until the laundry service kicks in once he's here for the real nappies!)..

Oh, and I forgot to say, its also a damned good excuse to go buy Muji stuff *LOL*

Splicoil - nah, i think this is the point to start that *lol*

Good luck there Mrs. K. We had to spend 3 nights in the hospital for young Ms Shake (emergency C section). Luckily it is about 3 mins away by car. I tell you the recliner there was uncomfortable to sleep on. And those nurses coming in every hour to take your blood pressure, my God. I started out with a huge sleep debt just from that. (They weren't taking my B.P. but they should have)

had a very pretty and very pregnant girl that comes to my bar a lot.

Puffing away on a cigarette she remarked that she wanted the birth weight to be low so child birth was easier.

I really don't know if she was joking but there she is smoking every week.

MrsK, I've got an idea that will not only save you thousands of Pounds but will likely contribute to your child living an authentically normal and happy life compared to the intolerable standard dreary London experience of all you can eat Indian buffets, lighting garbage bins on fire for kicks, and taking pharmaceutical grade Ketamine to dull the pain of the sinking ship we all ride called pathetic modern urban existence.

Fear not Mr. and MrsK, I have the solution! Pack your travel bags for an extended South American luxury stay with an undiscovered native tribe instructed to teach LittleK the importance of hardship, hunting, perseverance, and the joys of open thatch hut sex...
Our TV crew will stay with you at the tribe for the first week and then it is back to Britain for all of us as your weak and helpless breast feeding child's life and death depends totally on the kindness of Brazilian long hut warriors titty-milk for the next 18 years.

At the end of LittleK's completely unique experience will he embrace Mr. and MrsK as his own flesh and blood or will he use his superior hunting strength to BBQ them as a prestigious offering to the only happy family he knows...

Tune in next week.

The TV shrine has been mostly resurrected.

The big LCD televison is now mounted on the wall in the new place. Most of its subsidiary artifacts are plugged in, with the rest waiting their turn.

It doesn't look quite level, but I'm not going to say so until I can find the tool to prove it either way.

Now if I can just get the kitchen sorted out. Microwave plugged in, but where does the toaster go?

satisfied my Subway craving with a seafood sub and two white-chocolate-macadamia-nut cookies.
satisfied my Scarlett craving by watching The Prestige with my sisters, then taking some photos of myself in red lipstick.
(pics in blog)
steeling myself for another week of work and volunteering... and getting school moneys from rich relatives! Smile
