My soon to be father in law is retired, but works at a horse track to pay insurance and stuff. Anyway, the fiance is there visiting and they went to watch the horsies run and play two dollar bets.

mfsob hit the jackpot on some crazy long shot dealie and ends up taking home $200,000.

I gotta get to the track more.

lol.
I told him what Bukowski said about making two dollar bets and he laughed and said that's probably why the old drunk never won too much.

I found out that my noise band has our first live gig next week!!!

We've been playing together in various forms for almost a decade, really just for our own enjoyment... It's going to be very strange to see what happens in front of a live audience...

Details:

MASBTH (that's us)
The Velvet Underground (that's the venue)
508 Queen Street West, Toronto

Wednesday, Aug 27th, 2008 (Apparently industrial goth night!)
11pm till close (or the barrage of billiard balls)

If anyone here is interested in checking us out, it's gonna be awesome...
Come say hi and I'll be glad to buy you a beer...

He said if you were going to place a two dollar bet, you'd be better off taking your money from one pocket and putting it in the other.

Congrats Kerr.

Been getting into the new place-
Talk about a pain in the ass-
Got the entire outside of my box painted(me and my friends)- Most of the inside painted- Floors are laid down thanks to my friend- Carpet laid once again thanks to my friends- Tile laid in the kitchen and bathroom, new fans in all the rooms- Most of my stuff is moved-

Now, I have a lot of yard work and touch up o n the outside, a fence, and porch to paint-
and I haven't even started on decorating except hanging a few wall scrolls-

But, somehow have found a way to bake, and get some artwork done and start a rewrite that friend of mine has been bugging me about-

Looks like everyone has been busy-
Hope all is well-

It's a bad recording-

was supposed to have meeting with boss. but he isn't in best health, so when i went in he said he was feeling dizzy and his heart rate was all out of synch. i had to advise him to go down to medical. he was pretty calm, but its a little intense, when you're expecting to have a progress meeting.

That is great Kerr, my ex was really into Noise.

Personally I hated it but I see it more as performance art than music.

She dj's a lot of it and has some web stuff up and contact with a noise label. If you are interested in more info email me.

So yesterday my girl got fired from her job as a club dancer. She has had problems with the manager for a while and finally the woman made up a bullshit reason to let her go. I took her out drinking last night and wound up hanging out with a little group of people that have all been fired by the same woman. I feel bad for her because it was a chance each week for her to dress up and have fun and make about $20 an hour.

Anyway I have been toying with the idea for awhile of contacting a whistleblower attorney about some aspects of the clubs business. The owner of this clubs owns several bars and clubs int he area. I have been familiar with them for years and know a lot of the employees. Except for management he pays all employers in cash and pays no payroll taxes on those people. Some seem to be de-facto full time employees.

I don't know anybody that has any info about these types of complaints but I understand that certain attorneys specialize in preparing cases to go before the IRS in order to collect whistleblower compensation.

It probably won't go anywhere but it would be fun to see how that works. It would be a fun way to get a little revenge on a bad employer too.

anticipating the visit with dad's Great Aunt and Uncle... organizing thoughts into semi-coherent explanations about the courses I need and my volunteering...
writing poetry as a break! but its very sappy poetry so nothing from me in the thread today.

I reckon either chef was making two batches and the other guy got really lucky, or he just plumb forgot. Usually there is a reasonable amount.

You should go back and demand satisfaction. Make the chef give you his pinkie as an apology.
