I've just received a photo text message from my brother.

I'm scared to look. It nearly always means a new pet. yet another damned new pet. I'm wracking my brain for any animals I may have mentioned wanting recently.. Oh god.. they couldn't have bought a baby could they?? *LOL*

EDIT: Its a Galah / Rose Breasted Cockatoo called Lola. FFS.
This takes them to, um, 4 dogs, 2 cats (all "designer" ones ofcourse.. dogs are a springer spaniel, 2 Italian Spinone's and a miniature poodle.. cats are bengalese leopard cats), 5 ferrets, a rabbit, an African Eagle Owl.. in a small 2 1/2 bedroomed house with a small garden.

You and me both.

Had to toss a girl out of the bar last night for drinking underage. Cute little girl she had tipped me on the way in and we chatted a bit. She hung out with friends outside the bar until closing. I went to speak to her and she asked if I was single. If I'd known all I had to do to pick up cute girls was throw them out of the bar I would have started a long long time ago.

Just out of curiosity, what's minimum age for drinking in your region? Around here is 18yo

21, I do believe, barreto.

It's 18 here, too. Used to be 21, up until sometime in the 70s.

Ah, I remember when I turned 21. Most every Yank on the board said, "Yay! Now you can drink and vote!" and I said, "Been able to do that for three years now, but I don't."

Yeah drinking age nationwide here is 21. Changed about 20 years from 18. There is currently some news about a group of university presidents pushing to look at lowering it. It won't happen. They are concerned with campus drinking which is a limited issue. Teen deaths have dropped dramatically since they raised the age and nobody ever got re-elected by making it easier for kids to die.

That girl was 20 years old and cute but I told her she was way too young for me. (ok that is a lie I would totally go there but she looked a little too ..errr.. wholesome for me)

Around here we have poor enforcement... Lots of kids drinking in night clubs. Anyways I guess that a couple of beers are less dangerous than the "brilho" or E.

They don't die that much because here the minimum age for driving is 18yo. On the other hand, the number of adults that die due to drinking & driving is hideous.

the drinking age is 19 here, so if there's an underage in the bar they'll be quite young. i don't drink or really go to bars so i don't know if there's a big underage bar thing, but i know there's lots of underage drinking.

anyway. i've taken the day off work and am heading out in a bit for my New Student Orientation at the university...

As long as they can both see over the bar and pronounce the name of the desired beverage, what's the harm? Wink

Oh, I'm sorry, that's the law in Austria.

I think here it's 16.

I still remember my stupid little brother getting blasted on his 15nth birthday.
He went to a super market, bought a bottle of red label*, and then had his own private party of one.
He was so sick after that... It's the only reason my father didn't touch him. Cause he was this close to getting the thrashing of his lifetime.

*A child at a store is assumed to be purchasing liquor/beer or cigarettes for his parents or an elder. Fetching things for someone else basically.
We do have the concept of carding minors at a bar but not at market/convenience stores.

Ah, I did that when I was fifteen, though not on my birthday. Party at the Railway Hall, in Warwick.

Do you know what the good thing is about having my weird allergy to alcohol? I don't get hangovers. I drank approximately one-tenth of Jimmy Barnes' 1981 nightly average amount of vodka, and woke up fine the next morning.

Do you know what the better thing is? I was in school, living in an open-plan style with a half dozen other kids who attended that party and did worse than me.

Do you know what the best this is about living with a half-dozen other hungover kids in an open-plan style?

I had a stereo rated at about 400W RMS. Ran it off a car amp that put out about 600W.

A half dozen hungover kids.

400W of sonic power.

Yngwie's "Beethoven's 5th" at 120dB.

Seven AM on a Sunday.

Lithos emerges unscathed.

You're a right little bastard, Lithos!
That would be evil if they hadn't put themselves in jeopardy of their own free will.

Glad I was nowhere near you in my drinking daze.

Some fucker stole my tweeters at the end of the year, during Schoolies Week (I went home - I'll be fucked if I'm gonna go to the Gold Coast for anything.)

Motorola Pieze horns, KSN-1141. Built those speakers meself, with the help of (now) Able Seaman Damo. Put some cheap woofers in their.

It was beatiful and terrible to behold. Powered the car amp from an ATX power supply.

Sure, it might've been the vodka, or the fact I drank only vodka, but I've yet to try to repeat the experiment. I drank a glass of water, went to bed.

Got up early. Dining hall gave up Coco Pops on Sundays.

OK, I've been gagging to ask this, but as you're virtually inviting it.. How old are you Edit?? I've narrowed it down to between about 26 and 45 *lol*
