I must disagree. It's the glorious first page of a novel. And the rest of the book has nothing to do with Maria at all.

Doing our accounts, filing etc. etc. and finding we are 15% poorer than last year at this time. That's life, I guess.

Heard today that one of my old friends, the guy who showed me the internet before the web, who introduced me to text adventures, who hacked into several US Dept of Defence computers using an Apple II before it became a capital offence to do so, died aged 71.

On reflection, I don't feel so bad about the financial situation.

I got fired today over this. I am now activily appealing this decision. After 9 years here I get no warning, no dialog? No fucking probation?
I am aghast.

Just posting to vent. That's all.

VENTING:
Enduring a meltdown of the cop co-worker. She got physical by grabbing an ice bucket while declaring loudly that she always has to get the ice refills. She interrupted me while trying to fill the fifth glass with the remaining ice for water.
I told her fervently and loudly to get her fucking hands off the bucket and leave me alone.
She told me loudly to "hurry up!" while trying to pry the freaking bucket from my hand.

The current manager heard it but didn't see it. Tonight the manager and I had a chat. It went well, as I evidently was the last to vocalize about stuff at work. [Everyone else just vents, except for three, me included.]
I don't know if this co-worker-cop-now bitch will be able to control herself while working with me.
She apologized to the manager, but not to me. I don't expect shit from the copper. I just wonder if she might get more physical as I disappoint her in my continuing `heathen' ways...

Sorry for the mispellings...working on the new spell check on macbook, and failing here. My circaidian rhythm is fucked, with workmen at the house, pounding loudly in the a.m. and an asshole at work acting out.

And trying to track the U.S. politics...

I think I need a vacation from crazies.

It was the word "fucking" said within the bar's earshot that done me in, it appears. Fear of driving off customers, it seems. No address of employee acting-out behavior.

Thank you, Bravus. We shall see if she can dialog with me.
Did not expect to cry deep cries when I showed up to work today. It was a kick to my body. I love my work and am very grateful for it.

I need to learn how expelling me, after nine years here, somehow prevents a something in pr for the restaurant.
One moment of loudmouth "get your fucking hands off" gets you shit canned?

She said she'd reconsider, while I was sobbing and saying I can't believe she wouldn't work with me.

I'm leaving out the freaking pacing, the incredible sobbing in a corner, head at glass corner just utterlly feeling fucked.

Thank you, Twi.
It is a learning experience, indeed.
I am real sorry if it comes to pass.

As an excitable swearer myself, I am full of sympathy for your plight-- it's got me into mild scrapes, but of course free-lancers lose customers, but rarely the whole job.

Keep swearing. I never saw the harm in it myself.
Much better than passive-aggressive or unkind behaviour.
Doing your job well is what counts.
They'll have oyu back. You're good at it. The job. And the swearing.

Crappy news, Anabel, sorry to hear it.

Wish you all the best with the reconsideration or, failing that, finding a new and more amenable spot.

Better out than bottled inside, thats what I say. Sad news, Anabel.
I really hope the situation improves for you, but like you say, assholes are everywhere and some like the smell of their own shit.

Good vibes to you, amigo.

I'm thinking of using this quote on the resume.

Thanks, you guys. No email response, yet, from THE ONE WHO CAN TURN THIS AROUND.

I don't know what kinds of laws and agreements with trade unions you might be covered by Anabel, but I would find it extremely unfair if they decide to fire you because of one action that occurred weeks ago.

If they thought it was so severe, they should have fired you immediately or given you an initial verbal or written warning telling you that you were at risk of being fired if you did it again.

Waiting weeks after an event implies acceptance or forgiveness.

I hope this situation gets resolved quickly because it is completely out of line.

Tell your boss to go get fucked, Anabel!

Sorry hear about the job loss. But swearing? Damn near brought a tear to my eye. Made me proud.

I know in the states it is not uncommon to have policies against swearing but the punishment can depend upon the specific incident. Sorry Anabel but unless you have a union you must rely on the goodwill of the employer. I would recommend you check with the Labor dept in your state and see what recourse you might have. At the very least you should qualify for unemployment benefits.

Man I dread that. Got a notice that one of the classes at Young Ms. Shake's school has a lice problem. I hope it doesn't migrate to her room. There was never a instance of lice in the schools I attended growing up. What's the deal these days?

Met Mr. G (thanks Fp for waking me up) very up close and very personal. It's funny, I mentioned that out east in Toronto, On Canada ppl line up early to meet 'n' greet him, and that this setting (clothing store promoting Buzz Rickson line) was way cooler! He was delighted and concurred that he preferred it!

So many people have had the opportunity to meet him in a more relax setting, today was my turn!!!

Picture? Yes! A bit blurry since the G1 phone is still a bit wonky!
