I was willing to bet they weren't taking photographs, but smoking pot, but then there was footage of an SES guy walking out of the drain with a tripod.

Kinda pissed, as when I entered the Lord Mayor's Photographic competition in 2006, the bastard who won had a photo taken inside a drain.

Kid was an engineering student, though. Probably should've known better, but the rain came down bloody fast, and if you're more than a few meters up one of those drains, you don't have much of a chance.

had a good day today. After work sucking ass I got to class and finally think I got a handle on the paper I have to write. I have two days off this week to go to pull old news stories and census data. Then I have three weeks to knock the paper out. Natch!

I have to meet with a advisor for school too, not sure how to say this but I am not as charged about school as I was. I am very happy with school but I am not too concerned with finishing it, and I am not sure if that is a good thing. Right now things are cool, I don't make much money but I don't spend much either. I don't work a lot but I have a lot of free time. I am told that I am basically living my twenties now in my thirties because I spent so much of my twenties trying to have a career. Not sure about that. I think that I spent so much of my twenties trying to make as much money as I could only to find that it didn't make me happy. Now that I am in my thirties I am more concerned with enjoying life and making myself happy.

I have spent the past few days updating myself on facebook and finding way too many people I remember from high school. I never kept up with any of them but it is fun to see how they have all grown (mostly in their waist it seems)

I am sitting here listen to a neighbor clomp up and down the stairs wearing what I am fairly certain are hobnailed boots from the noise he is making. I am quite sure this fucktard has lived with lithos at some point, or if not he would be right at home with lithos' roommates.

I got me "official" GRE scores. I got 5.5 on the writing section. Should have been higher.

good to see you back though.

heh- I wish I could tell you how often they try to tell me how I could move up in the company- I am going to be in a hospital bed trying not to ponder the missing organs in my body- Trying not to laugh that, this totally legal, and how much I want a cigarette-

My future has very little if nothing to do with that company and I love to look dead pan at every corporate glitterfest they throw- They are so cute when they rope a new lamb in for a sacrifice supervisor-

FP- get better head cold lack the fun they are sold to be-

I tried to get to sleep early last night hit the sack about 2 am fell into slumber then 5 am I just woke up and couldn't go back to sleep-

I'm finally home and going to bed-
Good night all-

Thanks, Noirjyre - I think things are finally improving. I've turned our office into a sweat lodge again today - which is good because my husband is also feeling sick and said he's been freezing all day. He's left early from work, so hopefully it'll help him too.

Cassie's Year 12 formal (prom) today. So, yeah, that happened to her today, but what happened to me was driving her to get her eyebrows waxed, then her hair and makeup done, then home to change, then to a friend's for a pre-party. Then I took Alex to her music lesson, then picked up Cassie from the formal.

But it was all worth it - she looks stunning. And now she's hanging out with her agéd parents rather than going to the after-party, which is gratifying in its way.

Today I logged onto the WGB after lurking/being too busy to post anything substantial for weeks/months.

I realized the kids from South Park, if they had aged normally from the beginning of the show, would be about the same age as my roommate.

I'm doing alright, despite on-and-off periods of depression.

Lithos' formal preparations: glances over suit hire catalogue, looks at pictures, asks, "You got any of these left? No? Fuck it, I'll take the one next to it. I dunno - what size do you think I am? Cheers."

In case you're wondering how much of a hole Warwick is, our school formal was held in Toowoomba. That's right, even our school considered Toowoomba a better alternative to Warwick. One hundred klicks away. Toowoomba!

Only took 'em eighty years to figure it out.

Nah, we weren't hit, it turns out. I'm drinking some now, straight from the tap.

Saw a bunch of SES and RAE types at the supermarket yesterday, though. I'd imagine the local supermarket would be the closest one with bottled water still available, at least this long after the deluge.

By gar, it pissed down over the last few days.

They seem to have backed off on predicting more storms for this arvo. I'm about to go for a ride, though, so that may well change...

Found out for sure that I'll be meeting with some Congressional staffers tomorrow. I think they're planning for Change, with a side order of Hope.

My shots are up to date and I plan on wearing a full-body condom, so I hope to come out of it unscathed. If the meeting was at a bar, we could do the Congressional staffer drinking game. Wherein you take a drink every time someone types a message on a blackberry, and two drinks every time they name-drop. Guaranteed drunk in six minutes flat.

Possibly worth keeping in mind when meeting with Congressional staffers (all the best with that)
