And sorry for extraneous posts but Happy Bday MrsK! I forgot to say it before. Take you time getting back to peak physical shape. You are going to be running (after baby), deadlifting (baby off the floor), curling (baby out of the crib), and leg pressing (Krad in the butt) before you know it.

Congratulations, all the Ks.

In other news, I finally got the latest Mythaxis magazine out on the web.

Read and enjoy. Some of the contributors are friends of yours!

Gil, what's going on with Mythaxis? Is it getting a lot of hits? Are you building a name?

I'm not sure how you'd track he latter.

It's a good idea, I hope it takes off. Those other mags are stolid.

We've had over 3700 unique visitors. July was the peak month. There are steady hits.

I haven't had much time for publicity lately, but it's building, I guess. The Google list is lengthening.

I suppose I should be encouraged that some turkey has registered mythaxis.net (but not used it) in the expectation that I'm going to come begging for the domain some time soon!

That all sounds pretty good. I don't imagine Asimov's or F&S get all that many more hits. Maybe 10 thousand? Fifteen?

Took a tour of Ybor city this morning with my Florida Studies professor. Originally an Italian enclave next to Tampa it was the location where the cigar industry relocated after labor troubles forced it to move, first from Cuba to Key West and then to Tampa Bay in 1886. A fun look at old Ybor, with its Italian and Cuban social clubs. These were clubs that provided social gathering, healthcare, and education for their members.

We met the La Tropicana for cafe con leche, cuban toast, and guava pastries. Then around to see some of the museums and we passed one of the local cigar shops. The Cuban cigarmaker in the window told us he had been rolling cigars for 25 years, so he started long after the end of the best days of the Cigar factories were over. I still see these local cigar shops where they roll their own cigars but I never cared for the things. After awhile sitting in one of these shops I feel like I am sitting in a tumor.

Not today, but yesterday was (also) my birthday. Wife and kids gave me a kitty. Smile

So small and black, I'm still not sure if she's not actually a bat...

This morning Minx took me to the border to apply for a Canadian work permit. The cavity search sucked, and the mace still stings a little. They gave me the permit though so I guess it was all worth it.

So.. who's up for a Pacific Northwest New Year's meat?
