Thank you. I'm glad that my late life attempt to be class clown has a bit of success.

I think Trogdor is mostly right, but he protests too much - see The Bear who could Take it or Leave it Alone.

Many writers and artists have done their best work when zonked out on some chemical or other. They are the losers, I concede. We are the beneficiaries.

Hiya, Mr Man. When you coming to kick my door in?

So yeah, I spotted the stealth intrusion and have the logs to show access rimes etc. Having been on my tail since 2010, having interviewed all work collegaues and torn apart work documents, key logging & screen garbbing my PC so over 6 months and coming up short, the encrypted adsl browsing finally forced the hardware snapshot.

Gonna go quiet for a few days, until the heat settles and the custodial interviews are done. Have a good Xmas and New Year, my Wigbers mates. See in 2012 with a new profile, on new h/w and with a new set of life skills :>

No fucking regrets.

Er, what the fuck?

I'm going to have to concur with both Edit and Gromit.

Well, it is notable that Bic has never mentioned exactly who he does IT for. MI6 perhaps?

Obesity -- don't have a fucking sandwich.

Alcoholism -- don't drink alcohol.

Anorexia is a side effect of IBS.

Please remind me to kick your ass as revenge for insulting my anorexic mom.

If being sober makes you that much of an asshole, I really don't see the point.
I think you're doing it wrong.

Struck me when I read it that Bic's current predicament is proceeding along the lines of the Bradley Manning court disclosures (computer imaging, forensic investigation).

He has mentioned more than once that I recall, that his work didn't allow non-work-related surfing and posting  it feels awfully extreme but then again I don't work for the G.

I know I'm a bit late, but...

I got more shit from people for stopping drinking soda than I ever did for stopping drinking alcohol.

I didn't stop drinking due to any addiction issues, though; I just wasn't making enough money to buy anything I'd drink.

Getting there may take help, or it may not, depending on your circumstances. Any way a person needs to think about it to get to where they choose not to drink, whatever way works, that's the right way.

Why in the world you would want to or try to convince a successfully recovering alcoholic that their way of dealing with it is wrong is fuckin' beyond me.

Excellent point, whatever works for you. Call me a dipshit again any time, if it'll help. You too Boog. But do try remind me of this conversation first, so I won't take it the wrong way. ;-P

Cheers,

Patrick.

I use to work in an, erm, similar area to Bic.. what is done in your free time, as long as it is legal, is perfectly fine.

No one here is more of a dipshit than I. The discussion at hand, while heated at times, is a good discourse. My disclosure of my decision was intended to generate such discourse, and as such is viewed by me as nothing more (or less) than my friends offering support in the only way they can.

It is why I love this place, and exactly what I need.
