Sorting out a bunch of 300+ photos of the school soccer tournement I took yesterday. My son was participating and I was the school's designated photodad. And so I spend five hours taking shots of soccer playing kids.

So far, I learned three things:

1. I suck at taking sports pictures
2. My little digicam sucks even more at taking sports pictures
3. Next time, I should not let that April sun fool me and wear my winter coat. I think I caught a cold.

I'm being careful, no worries. I'm still not sure on the internet relationship thing. Gone through a few already, and not sure if I want to repeat the experience. For the right person though... who knows.

And actually, I did get along well with her in person.

Thanks for the words of support, and the pondering of who really does enjoy being chased by quadrunners.

I find that things work out best if you dont go out looking. A nice person like you should just hold out and wait for the right one to come along.

everyone is entitled to my opinion

Dang, I missed Nilcypher's birthday! Happy Belated Birthday, Nilcypher!!!

Emu? And, it died? That same day? Yup, too, too weird. Unbelievably weird.

That footage of the screaming ostrich chasing the guys in the open jeep is one of my fave animal attack films ever!

Such a shame that a first-date gift of a GPS tracker card for her laptop would set the relationship up for "trust issues" down the road, eh?

Had my first real day of karate today at college. Have it on Tuesday and Thursday, but the first Tuesday was for introduction, not actually working out. Instructor's title is "shihan", aparently a higher rank than "sensei". I wasn't able to follow everything perfectly, so now I'm afraid I'll start to forget over the weekend. Somebody needs to invent direct-neural-interface virtual reality, so it's easier to practice even outside of class time. Or I could just get a video from the library to watch on TV how they do it.

Hmm, whom to practice arm locks (I sucked at arm locks, especially need practice) on? Dad? Mom? Little brothers? Razz

I bought a new digital camera today!

It's nothing amazing, but it's smaller than my old one, with a better resolution and an OPTICAL ZOOM!

For the past two weeks I've been trying to code a project which has been sitting around for three months to completion. It's nowhere near finished. I'm refactoring the database code as we speak. Believe it or not, this would be fun if it weren't for the deadline pressure.

What type of karate are you learning? From what I understand, sensei and shihan both mean teacher, with shihan have a more specific martial arts connotation. The two may have a more specific meaning within the context of your system. Anyway, good for you. Learning martial arts has been nothing but good for me (but not fun for my knuckles or lats.)

Do you have any IP or email info? Did you grant access to anyone, or ran some 'utility' someone sent you? Perhaps you'll need the help of some trusted acquiantance with expertise on finding out any clues left by the hacker on your machine.
Are you sure it was an attack, not some catastrophic system failure? Or maybe someone had physical access to your machine?
This *really* sucks, DT. Hopefully you can nab the bastard that did that. Fuck!
