I didn't know it was possible to embed links in the avatar code.

I've heard of some windows exploits based on code embedded in graphic images (those in the WMF format, though, which isn't what avatars here are in, I think), but just clicking on it...

No thanks, at least until this gets resolved. (It could possibly be unrelated, after all...)

As most exploits don't work in OSX, I checked out the hasad avatar.

It's hosted on the board, not on an external site, or so it seems to me. Checked the file on an hex editor and graphic program and it just seems to be that, a .JPG file. Of course, I'm no bit detective, so...

I think maybe you got infected by some malware via an email or some page. But hopefully the admins can check hasad's image more thoroughly.

I don't like IE because of how closely it's tied into the Windows OS. An explorer crash can theoretically crash the whole system. But it just doesn't seem rational to embed a virus in your avatar .jpg, so I'll wait and see. In the mean time, good luck restoring your system.

Lunch break yesterday I was walking to the theater to get some good sitting tickets for the movie we saw last night. Going through the main square I came across these guys. They were quite some characters. Very funny!

Hello everyone! Hope you are all doing well! I'm okay. Just very busy with teaching and adjusting to life in Korea. I miss the WGB and I rarely have any time to go online. I have a very full schedule and hardly any time to myself. I am still living in the hostel, but at least it's rent-free and it gives me a chance to save up the money I'm earning. I'll probably stay there for two or three months until I have enough money to get whatever place I want....

I miss you and love you all. Take care everyone!

Meru

This *really* sucks, DT. Hopefully you can nab the bastard that did that. Fuck!

Whoever did this not only erased all of my files but also uploaded alot of their own crap. It was directed at me and I think it was aperson who followed me here from a music download site. They must have seen the wgb in my cool sites area in yahoo, followed me here and gained my trust.

It's an Olympus C-310 ZOOM. 3x optical zoom, 3.2 megapixel.
It's more than two years old. I bet your new one is far better.

It's this one. Point and shoot.

Well ok. I just checked the specs.
Focal length 5.8 – 17.4mm (equivalent to 38 –114mm lens in 35mm format).
