Well, he is the Great Ingestor, I suppose. Maybe that's why I can't find my copy of PR.

I've always loved archaeology. I was hammering flint in my dorm room until my roomate went to the hospital with shards in his feet.

Him: "What were you thinking?"

Me: "White devil kill too many buffalo."

At least it wasn't obsidian.

One of my partners in crime has a story about a
flintknapper's house out in Wyoming. As I
understand it, he'd basically cover the floor with
the debitage, then eventually sweep it into the
unfinished cellar depression.

The image in my head is of a one room shack
somewhere in the high plains with about three
inches of flakes covering the floor.

Went out this morning to allow the family to purchase my birthday present, which was to be a pair of armoured over-pants for motorcycling. Looked at a few and they were nice, but without getting too detailed I decided that (a) they'd be too much hassle for the daily commute and (b) I rarely do anything else on the bike. So why bother?

Then there was the conundrum of what to get me. I quietly mentioned that a steel string acoustic guitar is something I've been consistently wanting for yonks. We headed off to a local pawnshop (with some hilarity and shock from the daughters, because with our accents it sounds exactly the same as 'porn shop'), with little hope in my heart... and found a totally sweet little black single-cutaway Takamine acoustic-electric for basically no more than the pants would have cost.

More details (than you could possibly want) in the Axe Thread.

A coupla hours into work my eyes started to hurt. Nothing like eye strain to make my 12 hour shift of watching tv unpleasant. I need new glasses... should have bought them instead of my new Xbox 360. I'm an idiot.

So far, I had breakfast. There was no bacon. Frown

There was coffee, however, so all is not lost.

Coffee is a good substitute for bacon.

Bacon, however, is no substitute for coffee.
