Speaking of familys, this past Easter, I finally meet my future daughter in law........
She is delightful and I am so pleased that my son is making such a wonderful addition to our clan.

Today was long. Drove from DC back to Knoxville through rain (most of Northern VA) and then, freakishly, snow in Southern VA (for about 150 miles down to Bristol). Strange weather we've been having.

Yep, the weather down here is a-crazy, eh? I meant to tell you I was in DC for the rare confluence of cherry blossoms and the actual cherry blossom festival a couple weeks ago. Very pretty, very crowded. And then the worst food poisoning of my life from sushi in Alexandria...

Not quite far enough south to qualify as "Southern" Sushi, I guess. Now there's a term that makes me indefinably nervous...

Well, I just saw a freakin' amazing sunset at Gates Pass here in Tucson. The wind has been 25mph gusting to 45mph all afternoon and there is incredible haze in the air. Had this beautiful orb embedded in a strata of fiery orange haze just over layered purple mountains. Naturally it was at the end of a mountain bike ride though, so I had no camera with me! Going to have to buy a battery for the Elf just so I can capture a few things I've been missing recently.

Oh, and my electronic filing of taxes has officially been accepted. Huzzah!

Holy bajeezus! I guess people still remember me after all. I missed everyone and I've been incredibly busy dealing with boy troubles (and I'll spare you the details...). Big hugs, lots of kisses, and the promise to never chuck food at you unless done playfully.

I know! I should've never ever gotten involved. Now I feel like crap and am doing stupid things like questioning my worth.

Oh well, at least I'm writing some good songs about this entire mess.

Andy Martin, jazz trombonist. Fuck me, the guy NEVER made a blat. Awesome, low-key deftness from a trombone. Great rhythm section with some fine outside keyboard work.

Also, this group, "Incendio," I heard this week in the street, in San Luis Obispo. On the street, two guitarists, bass player. On the cd I bought, (live performance)[Day & Night], a drummer and percussionist. I drove the staff crazy with it last night at work. Many copies burned. [I know, it is a violation. I know firsthand about royalties. I am bad.] These poor folk are much happier, however.

Woke up, had breakfast, started prepping for a job interview in brussels, heard on the radio that a massive train strike has fucked up all train traffic so i might not make it to the interview, and then got slightly annoyed.

Today, I got up, I ate breakfast. (Coffee again, no bacon. Cereal and a bagel.) I drove to work. Another exciting day.

I'm SOOOO excited! I'm starting my vocal studio (Magnolia Overdrive Vocal Studio) and I have my first student!!!!!!!
This is HUGE for me, its like a sign that I'm heading in the right direction.
