Welcome back Meru-

My sister came back into town last night- I was surprized when she brought me my second present from Italy- Bathroom pics- A friend of my mine who recently went to Las Vagas said she was kicking herself for not getting some pictures of some of the bathrooms she used-

I finally had to ask them why they keep trying to get these pics for me- They think I collect pictures of bathrooms-

I appears this is nothing out of the ordinary for me-

Today, I am quietly doing my laundry-

One of my colleauges was sick today, so I ended up working the last shift - thus resulting in a 9 1/2 hour working day.

Last night a friend came to drop off some of her things and spend the night. She is in the process of buying a house and the lease for her apartment didn't end at quite the right time, so she's couch surfing a bit. I had quite forgotten about it.

This woman, I guess "friend" is a little strong. We never hear from her until she's broken up with someone or if she needs bailing out of some situation. She makes quite a bit of her own bad luck, but what can you do? She's nice enough, and we're happy to help. . . It sounds like I'm complaining, but I'm not:

We have a "friend," one of my wife's college pals who is now a cop. And the only time he hears from us is if one of us has gotten a speeding ticket, etc. And he's always happy to help. Always good to catch up.

This morning, I dropped our guest off at the Metro station so she could get to the airport (her job has her travelling quite a bit) and she realized halfway there that she didn't have any cash for the train. I gave her the four bucks I had in my pocket and assured her it was no big deal, and it really wasn't.

Just got me thinking, is all.

Rice. I found the U.S. domestic stuff lacks essential flavor. I suppose its because its not cultivated using human excrement.

Was involved in bloody combat all day with what little train service was left during their major strike today. Out of sheer principle, i refused to pay for any of the rides. If they feel the need to make my commute hell by not offering the services they're supposed to, i feel the need to not pay for that at all.

I did manage to get to brussels and even back home. I was only about 40 minutes late on my job interview, too. And about 15 of those were due to a technical disturbance in the subway of brussels. Conclussion: today was a really bad day to use public transport.

The interview went quite good by the way. It was bilingual though (dutch and french) so i probably lost some points because of my feeble attempts at speeking proper french. But apart from that it was all good. Guess now i just have to wait to see if i actually got ahead of the competion or not.

I personally only collect pictures of the vilest and most disgusting bathroom I find.

The gunfire around us makes it hard to hear. But the human voice is different from other sounds. It can be heard over noises that bury everything else. Even when it's not shouting. Even when it's just a whisper. Even the lowest whisper can be heard - -over armies... when it's telling the truth.

the girl I am seeing wants to spend a very domestic sounding weekend at my place.

she wants to bake me a cake.

As much as I care for cake I don't want her there ALL weekend.

sigh. young love. isn't it beautiful?

anyway. just been down with the work van to get couple new tyres. one of the guys got a bit pissy cause i didn't know where the flat tyre had been on the van. the other guy just shrugged and sorted it.

when i came back in i nipped in to wash my hands. as i entered the gents i could see the soles of a guy's shoes in a cubicle. realising someone had come in, he carefully and quietly stood up so i could no longer see his feet. stood there as quiet as he could in the hope i didn't know he was there. um. weird...

Well, yeah, but hard to beat for putting a large number of .45 slugs into a Windows box at point blank range in a very short time-frame

And it worked literarily Razz

Blasted around a track today in a flock of nearly destroyed Caprices sporting ramming plates, slabs of armor bolted around the sides, and no mufflers on most of the cars. PITting, counter-PITting, lane blocking, precision maneuvering, a little ramming, a lot of spinning out. Managed to rattle an opponent's car so badly in counter-pitting that he lost his serpentine belt, killing his power steering and cooling, quickly resulting in him losing control and then losing half his coolant on the side of the track.

A true Mad Max day.

David, I'm somewhat amused at the idea of a Belgian whose English is better than his French. How does that happen?
