Damn wildlife had it in for me tonight on my run up the Pima Canyon trail. Something started making a racket in the wash near the turn-around point, lots of snarling and caterwauling, so I picked up a couple of rocks and cracked them together for the remainder of the run whilst hoping it wasn't a rabid bobcat or a mountain lion. Then about 3/4 back to the car I met a gila monster in the middle of the trail that was damn sure he owned the whole thing. Took him about a minute to decide to get off and then when I tried to go around him he *hissed* really loudly a couple times and made me fall into a bush trying to watch where he was and simultaneously jump about 10 ft past him. And then a rabbit tried to jump my hood driving home. He failed, but I almost got it stopped so he bounced back up and took off again unharmed. They was all out to get me I tell yas!

well... hard call to make. alexandria to kirrawee. inner industrial sydney to the shoire. both bleak in their own ways. equidistant from home. new place is much closer to shops and cafes though. and it doesn't have an asbestos roof.

hmm. just been handed two letters. the way our holidays work has been changed. which feels funny. though it makes more sense. our holiday year ran from april to march, it has now been changed to january to december to match our parent company. no doubt it doesn't change anything. but it still feels like i just lost 5 days, and it puts me under even more pressure to use them by the end of the year - i used half of the previous year's between january and april! the other letter is to do with company bonus scheme, i've been here two years now, and not had anything, till now. looks like i've got about a month's wages as a bonus, with some extra babble suggesting a bit extra from the parent company. weird.

Thanks FP! Thanks, Noirjire. I am trying to figure out how I can put your scary birthday cake on a T-shirt or a bag or something. Have you ever played 1000 Blank White Cards? I seem to be over the cold, except for the "remove socially unacceptable sticky mucous from the nasal cavity by socially unacceptable loud noises" part of the process.
------------------- No, my previous sig wasn't really funny.
