Australian TV show about personal finances, on a few years ago. Called, simply, Money, hosted by a dude called Paul Clitheroe, who no doubt had an awesome nickname in school.

They had a segment on a married couple, DINKs. Did extrapolations on what would happen if they had kids, if one of them couldn't work for whatever reason...and then on what would happen if they got divorced.

Host told 'em, flat out, if it went to court and there were no kids, no extenuating circumstances - cheating, violence, etc - the woman would probably get 70% of the assets.

Look on the bloke's face was pretty fucking funny, though. Good warning.

King penguin Nils Olav receives a Knighthood from the Norwegian King's Guard during a ceremony at Edinburgh zoo, Scotland

Nils Olav, an Edinburgh Zoo penguin and Colonel-in-Chief of the Norwegian King's Guard, an elite unit tasked with protecting the Norwegian royal family, inspects soldiers of his regiment as they visit him in Edinburgh, Scotland, Friday Aug. 15, 2008, where he was presented with a medal. The original Nils Olav first became an honorary member of the regiment in 1972, when a young lieutenant called Nils Egelien visited the penguins at the zoo, but died in the 1980s, and was replaced by the current Nils Olav.

The Poetry of Sarah Palin

Here's my favorite...
quote:

"Outside"

I am a Washington outsider.
I mean,
Look at where you are.
I'm a Washington outsider.

I do not have those allegiances
To the power brokers,
To the lobbyists.
We need someone like that.

(To C. Gibson, ABC News, Sept. 11, 2008)
