OK. What are your resolutions, hopes and dreams for 2009?

In a practical sense, my main aim of 2009 is for us to finally manage to get our flat decorated and sold, and to move to a real house..

But I also want to develop a taste for whisky Big Grin

I keep trying whisky. And trying. And trying.

And I still hate it.

Ditto. I only ever found it bearable in hot coffee, drunk outside, which I think is probably a dreadful thing to do to a good scotch, so I gave up trying a while back. If you drink too much it also smells rough coming through your pores in the morning, which is another reason not to persevere.

Tylenol does taste better than whisky!
*Resolution: Take more Tylenol*

It probably doesn't help that people keep saying "you just haven't tasted the right one yet", and then they give me Laphroaig and it tastes like a peat bog somebody died in.

So far, in my preparation, I have developed a taste for JD and coke.

Not sounding good is it? *L*

Ironically, my new years resolution is to spend less time on internet forums and try and develop my writing.

The last New Year's resolution that I made was Jan 1,1982, when I resolved that I would never again make a New Year's resolution. It's the only one I ever kept.

To surf more.
To update my website, at least monthly.
To maybe get a second job, if thats what it'll take to keep my van on the road.
To get Mrs Bictaker into University.

I don't like cognac much. But I am not worried when there is malt whisky!

I don't see the problem.

I resolve to go back to the exercise class. Soon.

I do like your style, though, MrsK: resolving to gain a new pleasure seems much more sane and sensible than the more usual resolutions to give up some of our pleasures

I resolve to kiss my wife even more often

I resolve to faff about on the computer a little less, and walk in the park with my daughters a little more

That'll do me for this year

And Laphroiag is definitely not a starting place: something like Glenmorangie works pretty well. And no purist nonsense - if a little water, or a little ice, helps, it's all good.
