It's some classic internet drama bullshit. Seriously, this can only happen on int0rnetz, because if...I dunno, say the NYT hired a hack plagarist, named, for example Jayson Blair, just as an example, they physically Can Not pull his work like this, it's still a physical record out in the world, only in 1nt0rt00bz shit-fit slap-fight trauma-drama can you do silly things like this.

I'm actually quite pleased by the botched BingBung PR spin...but that's basically just schadenfreude.

Incidentally, this was rather hugely scandalous news among certain circles in my universe. Here in San Francisco, if you're a queer geek (comme moi), Violet Blue is considerably famous, and BoingBoing is even more prominent. And besides which, San Franciscans can really get uppity about free speechy type stuff and our right to be loud-mouthed sexpots. And to own large chunks of the interweb.

I find it all a little amusing.
